OPKS and headaches? need some exprienced OPK users to help me out lol...

okay so I have been using my OPKs for the first time this month for a few days I am only on CD8 so not expecting to ovulate for a few more days yet anyhooo... my control line is only slightly darker than the test line?? does that mean I will ovulate soon? should I keep testing?? If I only test in the mornings will I miss my LH surge?? I knew I should have gone for the smiley faces tests!!!
