OT - Story in Closer magazine

Sexualization of breasts is one thing that is wrong with the world sometimes. I mean with all our human "sophistication" and "civilization" we still cannot think outside the box. I mean imagine that African lady going to look for a breast pump to plug into an imaginery electric supply in God knows where so as to feed the monkey lol because its weird for a monkey to feed directly off her boob.

LOL exactly. If people agree that breastfeeding is not sexual then they should have no problem with it.

Your right, when you gather all the facts it doesnt seem so odd, but i just think that there are other ways of donating your milk to a needy other, eg expressing!
In my head the only 'natural' image is a baby/child suckling its mother, not a full grown man, cos sadly in society we are trained somewhat to sexualise that.
Its like the clips in Little Britiain where the fully grown man asks for 'Bitty', its funny, cos its so waaaaaaay out there and not the norm!

Im just being honest really, i just cant see it any other way!

I was watching some nature programme the other day, Human world i think, where the tribes in some countries feed baby monkeys direct from their breast. The sad and most grotesque part about it was that they have already killed and eaten its mummy.:(
That really did make me feel sick. One of the women in the tribe said it was her way of apologising to god for having to kill the mummy for food which their families desparately needed, it was like giving something back. They then go on to keep the baby monkeys as pets

I don't know why the suckling part is the problem. I think it's the most natural thing for any species to do. A lot of animals don't take to fake nipples/bottles and stuff.

I read that.I found it more funny than disgusting, really who cares?! They're her breasts and her pets, she can do what she wants she's not harming anyone. What is it with people judging others so harshly.I can think of many 'vile' things in life, but i wouldn't use this term here.

Its the only way they can survive! I hope you are not judging a remote tribe for hunting animals so they can feed their families. I think their way of thinking is amazing.

Little britain has alot to answer for as far as extended breastfeeders are concerned (well the ones I kow anyway) That sketch is bloody rediculous and always thrown about.... Anyway

I don't see anything wrong with it, although not something I would do personally.

I find myself agreeing with louandivy (as usual haha). Yes, the milk would probably be better going to a premature baby, but if that's what makes her feel better then I see no reason she shouldn't do it.

In Mongolia, it's quite common for women to share out their breastmilk to friends and family. I wish it were more like that here.

Yes I do know that thank you, and no I am not judging - Its just sad when you are an animal lover and feeling slightly hormonal

I think the Daily Mail would probably refer to us as 'tree-hugging lefty liberals' :haha:

OT but are there no "milk banks" in the UK? I know there are some in US but what about here?
