Our babies are all grown up - December 2009 and January 2010 toddlers

I hope you all had a lovely christmas :hugs:. Happy birthday to all the birthday babies too :).

We certainly had a lovely and VERY busy week and Daisy got very spoilt! Here's a couple of photos. The first two are from her birthday and the second two are from Christmas.

Hey everyone, how lovely to see you all here! I have been off B&B forawhile - just so busy with other things and got out of the habit, but now I have started visiting again I realise how much I missed it! I am pg again now (23 weeks) but just not feeling 2nd tri, I don't know anyone there really so it is nice to see some old friends here! Congratulations on your LO's birthdays. Abigail was one on Dec 15th. Luckily it was a Wednesday which is my day off work. We had a lovely party which she shared with a friend's baby who has the same birthday. Even in the couple of weeks since her birthday she has already started doing lots of new things. I am so proud of her every day!

OK, now my answers to the questions:

1. Is your LO sleeping through and do they still have naps during the day?
She has been sleeping through since about 7 months when we did Sleepsense with her. I felt I needed to do some sort of training to help her drop the night feeds at that stage as she was wanting to feed three or four times a night and I was back at work. The only time she doesn't sleep through now is if she is not well.

2. What are you doing about milk? How has your LO taken to food? What are their likes and dislikes?
I stopped BF at 9 and a half months, mainly becasue I was pg again and I was just sooooo tired I couldn't take it. She has happily moved onto formula since then and we are now on the Aptimil growing up milk. I think I am going to move over to cow's milk in the Spring - apparently it is better for their teeth but she has had so many colds etc that I want her to get the extra vitamins from the formula at the moment. She likes food a lot, especially finger food, unless she is teething or ill then she will refise to eat anything except fruit pot and yoghurt!

3. Has your LO got proper walking shoes yet?
No, she pulls to standing but is not walking or really cruising yet. She has fury boots for going out in the buggy but they are rubbish in the house as they just fall off!

4. Has your near 1 year old started trying to declothe you?
No, but she loves to take off glasses, that's her favourite thing.

5. What can I do about her not drinking enough milk in the day?
The HV told me that she should be on 21oz a day but she doesn't take anything like that. She takes about 6oz in the morning, about 4-5oz in the afternoon and about 5-6 oz at night. I do give her yoghurt during the day and sometimes add milk to other things, like cheese sauce for fish pie etc.

6. Any and all advice or you own techniques of dealing with tantrums appreciated.
Abigail has really strated to have these when we are getting her dressed now. I usually try to distract her but it is working less and less,so no advice really!

Hi hun, so glad to see you back :hi: Congratulations on your pregnancy :hugs: How are you coping being pregnant and having a 1 year old? Anyone else thinking about getting pregnant again soon?

Love Daisy's pictures she is a cutie. How do you get those hair bands to stay in her hair? Madi wont even keep a hat on her head.

omg I love Daisy's cake... I neeeeeed  I cant believe she's 1 already the time has flown. Its my Daisys 1 month tomorrow  I'm so not prepared! x

Hi everybody, quick question we have started having tantrums when changing Evies nappy lately, have any of you found this? You'd think she would be used to it after a whole year!

Madi does this when i change her nappy or clothes. I just try to do it as quick as possible and give her a toy to distract her. She does go about with her nappy squint for most of the day though :haha:

Daisy has started having tantrums when she has to put her arms in anything, getting her coat on is hard work at the moment!

I've always put them in her hair (even though she hasn't got much ) so she's used to them. The clips are from Goldelox and are for baby hair and are really good at staying put. She won't keep hats on her head though!

Hubby would love to try again now but I don't think I'm ready especially with Evies sleep the way it is!

A little part of me thinks I'm mad as Daisy is a dreadful sleeper too and I was so tired in the first tri when I was preg with Daisy!

We have been talking about trying again but i just keep thinking about the sleeping thing and whether I could cope with 2. I was thinking though that it should be slightly easier as I will know what to expect and will just do what I want. With Madi i was too scared to do anything other than what the HV said, so if the baby wants 6oz bottles every 2 hours then thats what they will get iykwim instead of watching the clock for the 4 hours to pass :dohh:

I would really like a bigger house though, our 2 bed house is getting too small for the 3 of us.

Another thing I worry about which is really silly is I feel like I'm robbing Evie of her mummy/baby time if we have another so soon as she will have to share all the attention and she is such a mummys girl.

On the sleep subject do you ladies have a pillow for your lo? We waited until Evie turned one (one of her presents :haha:) and touch wood she seems to be settling quicker and for longer (ie 2-3 hours instead of half an hour!), so I don't know if it is coincidence or if it will carry on but might be something worth considering x

Daisy is only 11 months and I wont entertain the idea of a pillow for ages yet - for as long as I can get away with. You have done the right thing to wait for a year minimum, I'm pleased it seems to be working for you :) What pillow do you give them when they have one anyway? can you get special childrens ones? cause if you hold a normal pillow to your face you cant breathe at all through it  x

I have thought about a pillow and baby quilt now Daisy is 1 as she sleeps so terribly I thought maybe they'd help but I am still a bit too anxious to try them out for a few months yet. I was also wondering about whether there are special pillows for toddlers?

:hugs:. They are specially made for babies, they are smaller than adult pillows too. It's from mothercare and another upside to it that I have found is Evie stays on her back, she had recently taken to turning onto her front so maybe it's giving her that extra little bit of comfort. She's till in our room so she's right next to me x

this isnt pillows but this it what we intend to move onto :flower: https://www.thatcuteage.com/p1322-Grobag-Stay-On-Duvet-Bedding-Set
