I have just eaten a pot noodle in work, just because it was there  and I was hungry, and the kitchen doesn't open till 1, and I can't leave the site!

But I've just noticed, it's 2 years out of date!!! 2 YEARS!!!!! OMG, I'm panicking! What do I do??????

I'm so so stupid! :dohh:

Bordering on embarrassing to ask this but I'll assume this is one of those quirky language differences... what exactly is a Pot Noodle? It sounds like something green my sister would have made for our post-prom party back in high school ....

Haha! Sorry! I thought they were universal they're so yummy and full of crap :haha:

It's a freeze-dried pot of noodles with a flavour (mine was Chinese Chow Mein) you add hot water to them and then eat :) They're instant food full of msr, salt, and crap but tasty :)

Haha I just googled Pot Noodle. I will now assume you are located in the UK. :D

In the States I've heard them called Cup Noodles or just Cup Ramen... I learn something new everyday!

Anyway... I don't think expired instant ramen would be particularly harmful considering they're pretty much dehydrated flour and preservatives anyhow, and it's not like you had 8 pounds of them ;) I think you're good.

And feel no shame. I had a piece of 5 day old pizza for breakfast this morning. There can't be anything good coming my way after that.:happydance:

Its just a 'best before' date hun, not a 'use by' date, so it just means it might not taste as nice, but it wont do you any harm, so dont worry! xx

If it tasted normal you're probably good.
I didn't think they went out of date, sure that wasn't a manufacturing date? =P

YOU might get ill, like a tummy problem, but I highly doubt it will affect bubs - they're tough old things really XD

Thank you :hugs:.... It looked okay, smelt okay and tasted okay! Which is why I didn't think to look at the sell by date! I was just reading the side of it afterwards (boredom mostly!)

I'm not too worried if I end up being sick and all that, just worried that it may effect baby, esp if there's bacteria or anything?

You dont get poorly from eating something past its best by date, only use by dates (on milk, meat etc). This is why they are trying to do away with best by dates.

Yeah, I'm holding on to the fact that it's freeze dried stuff!

It didn't say use by or best by on it, just March 11!!

Should be fine then! Was it a beefy one? I only like those ones

I see... I really wouldn't worry about that... Those things are so stuffed with msg and preservatives it would be hard to imagine bacteria being able to get near them ;).

I don't imagine the MSG really causes as much harm as some people say it does... Here in Japan it's in everything. I even have a bag of it that I use occasionally to add to soups and stuff to boost the flavor, and most Japanese moms put it in friggin' everything... And they have the longest life span and a really low fetal death rate so *shrug*. Heck, you see pregnant women here eating tons of sushi and you wonder if they know something we don't lol...

In fact, my doctor told me not to eat anything with food coloring in it... I thought that was strange. But when I asked him if it was OK if I ate tuna (which in the US I imagine that's a reasonable question) he kindof giggled and told me 'Of course you can. Why not?'.

I'm starting to think that no one knows what's really ok to eat during pregnancy. So you go and enjoy the crap out of your expired noodles. NO REGRETS, DARLING!

Ooh, I like the beefy ones :)... The one I had was the chinese chow mein! Still good, despite it's sell by date :haha:

Wow! It's crazy isn't it! Maybe I should have just had that pate that everyone else was having yesterday? :dohh:

I'd say they're so full of preservatives and nothing natural so they're good to go for about 50 years? :haha:

Have a look at this, the out of date pot noodle must be safe as there is a company which actually sells out of date pot noodles!!!
