over from bf - how much formula at 2-3wks old ?

Currently bf but having 1 or 2 problems & wondering how much formula were your babies drinking at 2-3wks incase i need to supplement or change?

Did they drink more during day than night ?
Which formula did you/do you use?

Hiya,

I use Cow & Gate and my LO drinks 5oz's every 4 hours. Sometimes he only has four but he doesn't have a set pattern of when he drinks more/less.

He was 3 weeks old yesterday btw x

I've had to top up jax's feed after breastfeeding when he still been pestering, i had the sma gold in ready made cartons in for emergencies & he's had 2oz then 3 hrs later another 2oz, so would this be about right? x

My son is 2 weeks old and drinks about 2oz every 2 hours. If he goes 3 hours without food then he will drink 3oz.

But I was told that I am over feeding my son as he gained 1lb 4oz in 2 weeks.

At that age Hannah had 3-4 ounces every 3-4 hours (fed on demand). I wouldn't say she ate more during the day or night at that age, it was about even?

charlie has 4-5oz every four hrs max but around 10 at night he has an extra 3oz then he sleeps throu till about 5am he then only has 3oz till he wakes up at nine were the 4-5oz starts again i use cow&gate 1. Taking him to be weighed on Tuesday so lets see how much more he weigh and to ask if the milk can cause constipation no poo in 5Dy's OJ and boiled water given as doc requested but no luck yet is not bothering him just me lol x

Brill so he's drinking about right then, I've had to give 2oz at 2.30pm coz he just wouldn't leave me be & i couldn't put him down, He finished the full 2oz & has been asleep since which is good but i dont know whether to now ff or bf
