Ovulation LH tests - Help please!

Hello, I'm using LH tests strips for the first time, I had one day when I got positive and then the next day was negative again, is this normal? Does that mean ovulation happened on the day i got a LH surge?

The positive result means you will ovulate in the next 12-36 hours, so in order to make sure sperm are there to meet the egg when you ovulate (egg only survives 12 hours) it's best to have sex the day you get your positive test x

I bd'ed on the day i got a possitive opk and used preseed... fingers crossed
