Am I ovulating when I feel ovary area pain, or is it when I have more cm??

I went by CM. when I noticed an increase we'd get on it, and keep going every day til it dried up. Usually about 5/6 days each month

Some get pains days before, during or after ov. For me it's the 4 or so days before. I had it all day yesterday, and had a scan today to show there is a follicle in there (only 1), so I know from this and last cycle that it's prior to ov.
