I met with my back surgeon/specialist today who kept me on the Norco (10mg) I have taken for months. I rolled my ATV and have a very painful back injury.
He said because I have been on the narcotic so long stopping it would cause a withdrawal and ultimately could likely cause a miscarriage and said I can continue to take the Norco throughout my pregnancy?
I have not had the apt with my OB yet where we talk about stuff like that - it's on the 30th.
Anyone else been on Norco or Vicodin while pregnant? My concern was if I still take it wouldn't the baby be born with withdrawal symptoms? And yes it will really suck because I am in a lot of constant pain but there is the option of injections in my back - which he referred me to that specialist and said I would see him in 3 weeks-ish. And then at my next apt in 4 weeks I may be able to taper off the Norco (dangerous to stop suddenly he said) if the injections work? Apparently they don't work for everyone.
