Ava is 16 lbs 2 oz (was weighed exactly a week ago at the doctor's) and can fit in size 2 (Huggies size 2 goes up to 18 lbs) and can also fit into size 3 (which is 16-28 lbs). Anyways I am at a standstill here. I have always prebought Ava's diapers (I know BAD habit) and I bought all of her size 3 diapers in Huggies brand as I have heard Pampers don't hold as well as the baby gets bigger and the wee amounts become more. But the Huggies don't fit Ava right in the legs. Her wee's and poo's leak out of the side of Huggies. I ended up buying a pack of size 3 Pamper Cruisers and it snugs very well around her legs and I get no leaks what so ever.

I have often heard some babies shapes are better with Pampers and can only wear that brand and others fit better in Huggies and can only wear that brand. It makes really no sense to me as the Huggie Movers are shaped a lot like the Pamper Cruisers. The only difference I see is the tabs on Pamper Cruisers are a lot stretchier which is why I think the Pampers fit Ava well but no the Huggie Movers.

Anyone else experience this as well? I guess I have a Pamper baby.

Hannah is definitely a Pampers baby. We didn't like the way Huggies fit her

We had a few leaking problems with Huggies and they also were really tight on her and cut into her legs :nope:

Ouch! I don't have that problem with Ava. The wee and poo basically fall out of the sides.

Before I switched to cloth, we had a similar problem with Huggies; just couldn't get the fit right. Also, they were rougher than Pampers.

I have heard lots of ladies say that Pampers work better for girls and Huggies for boys. I have found that for us. Pampers are a no go for my boy. But Huggies are great!

I have a friend with a girl that has the opposite... Pampers are great for her girl and the Huggies are no good.

Huggies all the way here! I usually use super dry (blue ones) and I thought I'd try pampers simply dry, they just do not suit us I was changing him every half an hour and they where really heavy and I could smell wee on him from miles off! Don't seem to have that problem with huggies! When he was younger we did use pampers their alot softer and he didn't pee as much! Xx

I think the boy vs. girl thing has to do with how they place the absorbancy. Huggies seem able to absorb more up front where boys' wee tends to collect faster. Whereas Pampers is better at soaking it up a bit lower.

I think it's their build really. Landon only used Pampers, Huggies sucked on him! Casen could use either but we mostly used Huggies. Hayden uses Huggies, I hate pampers now, they are way too heavily scented, they sag so much between their legs and the tabs are way too stretchy. Hayden is 2 1/2 and wears a 3 in Pampers and the tabs are way over lapping, it's crazy. Plus the Pampers now have "dry max" in them which is causing some serious chemical burns to lots of babies, I refuse to use them now. I love Huggies Little Movers for him

I dont like Huggies for megan at all - they leaked up the back - even during the night when she would wee - it would go up the back (she sleeps on her back even!)

But I used to do home daycare and the parents had to bring diapers for their kids - some chose huggies & some pampers. I had girls who did great in huggies & others did great in pampers ... same with the boys  Only problem I did have was when a boy turned 2ish - was still in diapers - he had always been in pampers without a problem - then he got supertall and his diapers didnt seem to fit right after that - they would always leak on him (wee & poo).

We always seem to have poo leakages with Huggies :grr: Not a fan of them at all. Don't have Pampers here, but we've got a brand called Treasures which are very similar by the looks of things - they're much better

I agree though, with Huggies the poo always leaks out of the sides (despite their '2 leak guards'...they've gotta be kidding, that second leak guard may as well not be there!) and I also find they do cut in to the legs a little.

Unfortunately at my baby shower we were given one of those boxes of 108 newborn Huggies. Noooo  Still not through half the box yet, as they just don't suit Lachlan's bottom!

Neither

Tesco nappies are excellent, not 1 problem with them and ive been sing them for 9 months.

ShaunaNicole, sounds like you mite have your LO in a size too big. Buy a small pack of the size below and see how you get on.

Pampers all the way for my little boy, we did try huggies but they leaked up the back and where they join at the top of the legs.
We also tried some supermarket own brand ones because they were on offer and really cheap which were also ok, but not as absorbant.

I guess that's why they sell them in small packs, so you can try and see which ones you prefer!

Pampers are softer than Huggies and never yet leaked, but Huggies are not bad too, just have to make sure the size is right for the baby. In our case they leaked only if they were a bit small for Lexi. By the way, they have come out with organic cotton lined Huggies. Oh and they are much more generous with their coupons than Pampers.

I think Huggies are better - when we tried Pampers they leaked everytime.

This. I was forever changing Laila in pampers as she STUNK of wee =/ gross! Laila is a huggies baba!

I use to love Huggies..however Rian started leaking through...I switched to Pampers Baby Dry and love them.

Matthew's in reusables now but I put him in Pampers size 4 baby dry at night. We didn't get on with Huggies at all! He would explode all up the back of them and constantly smelt off wee! Havn't tried Huggies as he's got bigger just stuck with Pampers as they seem to work fine with us!
