Is anyone else eating it? It's the one thing I have been loving lately, on a salad with fresh apples, pecans, and cherries.... Yum! I have it maybe once or twice a week and only about a tablespoon of bleu cheese. I read that it's ok in pregnancy as long as its pasteurized. Anyone else heard this?

Pasteurized cheese is just fine. It's also loaded with calcium. I've been eating brie. Go nuts!

I have been eating pasturized blue cheese all along, doc said it was fine.

I'm eating blue & soft cheeses all throughout my pregnancy and I'm fine. Almost all the cheeses you find in a normal super market are pasteurized, therefore safe.

I don't think soft pasturised cheese is the same... Because it's soft. Best check!

Pasturised blue cheese is fine.

"Soft cheeses like this are less acidic than hard cheeses and they contain more moisture. This means they can be an ideal environment for harmful bacteria, such as listeria, to grow in."

I've done investigation into the soft cheeses. Here's just one article on WebMD about it:

Listeria is only a risk in UNpasteurized feta.

Thanks everyone!! Now I can enjoy my bleu cheese salad guilt free! :)
