I have recently been diagnosed with this. I worry this diagnosis is correct as it is meant to occur in the third trimester, and I am 21 weeks. I also worry because it was meant to be localised to the abdomen although is now down the inside of both arms. It is also not particularly itchy, but I don't know if this happens later.

It first appeared on my tummy last wed night like it is on my arms now, but has obviously worsened. It is alot redder and covers my whole tummy in the flesh.

I would appreciate any advice from anyone who has suffered something similar, and is it likely to spread to my face or anywhere else?

Thanks in advance,
Debs

Once again so disappointed with the lack of info I have had from the NHS Grrrr.

I was just diagnosed with it today. I've had these bumps since I was 3 weeks... lucky me. For me it seems to go in phases. It mostly stays on my stomach, but when it's bad it travels up to my neck and/or down to my thighs. I don't know if you have the same meds in Scotland, but my dr said to take 25-50mg of Benedryl nightly. I've also been using Cortizone and Benedryl creams. They both help with repeated usage, but new dots keep popping up. I read it goes away after delivery (was hoping for earlier, that's a long ways away for me.) I just posted something earlier about it in 3rd trimester as well. Thread name: PAPPP. Good luck

I get bumps like that from detergent. You might give the dye and perfume free stuff a try. I know it's hormonal, but maybe having fewer iritants on your skin would help...

Thanks KnitBit but have been using non bio and unperfumed stuff for a while to no avail. The rash is getting really itchy now, think i'm just going to have to get on with it for the next 16 weeks, it supposedly clears up straight after birth if not slightly before. Think I'm more down about it just because of weight gain etc... and making me feel even less attractive. My hubby thinks he is a comedy genius (he is not) and does anything but re-assure me, but like I've said before, all the weight, strechies, sickness, rashes, heartburn etc etc etc are worth it for happy healthy babies x
