period only 7 weeks pp

Hi all. I am exclusively breastfeeding my 7 week old on demand.

Post partum i bled until about 2 weeks and then for anout 3 weeks had the yellow discharge.

I woke this morning to find bright red blood again so i think its my period.. i didnt think i would get a period untol much later as im feeding so much..

Will this effect my supply? Will it alter my milk at all? Is this even normal!?

With DS1, my periods didn't return until I stopped feeding at about 10 months. I was really disappointed to get my first period with DS2 at 6 weeks, but it only lasted a couple of days, then I didn't get anything else until he was just over a year old (still nursing but dropping feeds). My friend had regular periods from 6 weeks onwards and her milk supply was unaffected. It therefore doesn't seem like there's a "normal" but hopefully you won't notice any effect on your supply whatever happens.

I thought I got a period at around 8 weeks pp, but I had just one spot of blood and then nothing else. I haven't had anything since and he is 4.5 months. Hopefully this is the case for you as well!

I was on demand EBF with night feeds too. I have had regular AF since exactly 6 weeks PP. Whenever i was on AF i had. Supply drop ans my DD would feed round the clock. Id also have supply drops on the day i ovulated each month due to the estrogen. It's all fine though, your LO will be a okay

My periods came back at 6 weeks pp. 5 months old, still fully breast fed and feeding day and night and I have been getting regular periods. Doesn't stop them for everyone. My supply has been fine.

I had random spotting which I thought was my period at around 8 weeks pp, lasted a day and a half if I remember correctly, and then no real periods until my LO was over a year old.
