Petite Mommy To Be <3

I am 5'4 and was 112 before pregnancy. I went for my 8 week scan and was so suprised and horrified to see that I had gained 9 pounds already! I had been to my doctor on January 31st for my annual and was 112 when I went for my 8 week scan on 3/25 I was 121. I almost started to cry. The sad part is I have been sick and not really eating.

My doctor was not worried about it though. She said I will most likely not gain much more weight this trimester. She also said it was most likely water retention and I should drink more water.

I have never been able to gain weight my whole entire life!

I'm 5' 4" & 99lbs.
I'm freaking out because the scale keeps going DOWN! It's been hard to eat because of the nausea but at least I can keep everything down, I can't imagine if I wasn't!

I'm also worried about the third trimester since I have a short torso. SO many ladies have breathing trouble or can barely eat since everything is so squished... Agh!

^^ i have too i was really embarrassed as i was jst bragging to OH how i hadnt gained any weight yet and i had been already rather large with my son at this pt in my pregnancy and then i stepped on the scale and it read 129 and OH kinda giggled and said no weight? lol i had been very sick since conception, i thought i had the flu and was so surprised to be pregnant but o well its for a great cause!!

My weight gain has been so odd! I'm 5'3" and started off at 125lbs, but during the weeks of morning sickness and no appetite I went up to 133lbs! I was terrified. Now that I'm feeling better and eating I've went down to 128. Dunno what that was about, maybe water weight?

I can't wait to have a proper bump though! I still have some bloating going on and it gets so bad at the end of the day lol. My poor belly is getting a work out already. I start off looking like I'm 14 weeks gone, but by bed time I look 24 weeks hahaha.

Armywife -- I have a short torso too! Didn't even occur to me that we'd have a rough time with that. Oh dear!

what do you ladie splan on doing for maternity clothes?? I peeped in a mternity store and none of their stuff would fit me they are eith too long or frumpy looking on me. I am thinking to just wear regular clothes in a bigger size so I can at least maintain my fashion sense.

i think that im going to wear regular clothes as well...
i bought a few maternity things with my son and they were comfy but i hated their pants haha and i plan on wearing alot of OH's clothes haha and since i will be pregnant during the summer i plan on wearing shorts like work out shorts and swim suite tops and tanks comfy and cool!! and maybe get a nice tan too

so i popped tonight i had no bump this morning and i could sleep on my tummy last night, and i could button my jeans and i looked normal.... well by 8 tonight my hubby jst getting home says WOAH! u gotta baby bump! and i had noticed all day my pants were getting tighter... what do u girls think... it hurts to suck in and i had a flat tummy this morning, dk if u can pop like that

I am 5ft3" and weigh 110 pounds. Am in my 4th week and hence the weight gain hasn't really taken off. Excited about gaining weight and having a nice big baby bump...

Me too! I've already started buying flowy tops, & I hope I can get away with just going a size up. My uniform for the summer will be cropped leggings & long tees!

Because maternity clothes, just aren't cute...

Hi there

I'm 5'1", 115lbs, size 10 and size 3 shoe.

I feel that I have a small bump coming already, not the same bloating in the evening as with previous weeks - it seems to remain the same all day.

I struggle with bras, as my back size is obviously quite small, but the cup size isn't for my frame - I'm a 30DD when I'm not pregnant (all the women in my family have a biggish bust) and I normally struggle to get the DD in a 30 anyway, as they usually only start them at 32 and 34. Does anyone know anywhere for good maternity bras for petite women?

Being petite is great - like my DH said to me when I first met him, "They don't make diamonds as big as bricks!"

Hello! I'm 5'3" and was 112 before I got pregnant. I do not want to know what I weigh now but I'll find out tomorrow at my midwife appointment.

I feel like because I'm small the weight gain is so noticeable! It's all on my tummy so I already look pregnant or at least like I've gained a lot!

I've bought some maternity jeans though I'm not quite ready for them. I also bought a few longer tops in dark colours to try and cover up my belly. I feel really self conscious about it because I haven't told anyone I'm pregnant.
