Phoenix as a boys name?

I'll try here as well....just learning my way around this group...

If you have a moment, could you give me your feedback on the name Phoenix for a boy? Is it too 'out there'? Will it stand the test of time?

Phoenix sounds great for a boy!! It sounds quite masculine to me. It's not too "out there" yet I have never heard of another boy named Phoenix. I like it a lot!!

I have a soft spot in my heart for that name. My best friend named her son Phoenix. Sadly, he passed away.

But it's a wonderful name, and very meaningful...as a Phoenix rises from the ashes.

It's definitely a masculine name but I'm not sure how it will do later in life. I don't think it's too "out there" as such but it is a very unusual name and not sure how it will go in the future, but then nobody does really so if you really like it then I say go for it x

Love it. One of our son's is Fenix. It's pronounced the same, but obviously spelled differently (we didn't make up the spelling, it has it's own meaning).
