will do thanks - for now i'm just posting them on my facebook page to see what people thing helps me learn too!

Can I sneek in too please?

I've always been interested in photography but I thought you needed to have a flashy SLR in order to do it. Anyhoo, I only have a little Samsung digital camera but I decided to start fiddling around with the settings and so far this is what I've come up with:

Is anyone else using a regular compact digital camera? Any tips on how to get some really good shots? I can't afford a decent SLR at the moment so I just gotta work with what I have.

BTW, thanks for that Kodak link Cinnamum!!!

Great pictures everyone !! Im using a normal compact camera but no idea on how to get good pictures its just been hit or miss for me and seem to do ok.

I've found the key to great images with a regular compact/point-and-shoot can be as simple as getting the lighting right! Situations where the flash can be firmly off usually work best for me.
examples (Canon IXUS 900Ti):

and this was taken on my phone (sony ericsson k800i - 3mp)

not claiming to be an expert - just letting you know what seems to work for me!

I'm actually looking into buying a small point and shoot camera for just everyday stuff! Sometimes its a bugger carrying my extended zoom out with me so its just easier to pop in a small point and shoot into my purse! What kind do you use? I'm not sure what to get...as I don't want to pay a fortune for it!

I agree with Debs - I too have more success when using a compact if I stick to situations where the flash isn't necessary. Outdoors or a brightly-lit area tend to give the best results.

Ok, I'm gonna look around the house for things to snap and then I'll try a lil photoshopping on them. If I upload them later will you all be good enough to critique them please?

Hi Ladies, avid photographer here!
My Hubby bought me a FujiFilm Finepix s5800 for xmas so ive been a bit snap happy since then, will post some pictures on here.

Have any of you heard of Redbubble.com? its a great site where you can upload your best photos and people comment on them, or enter them into competitions (like on the flickr site) but you can also sell them as greetings cards and prints.
Ive been on there since last year and its great, I get some great feedback from Pro's! :)

Have got some "nature" photos so will get them on here when I figure out how lol

Amy x

I didnt sell any on Redbubble :( but I did do some prints and cards for people I knew by using another site, where you can upload and order prints and cards for those, was cheaper lol.
Raised about £35 for the butterfly Cards and Prints, which was great, still trying to come up with new ideas about raising more money tho! x

rb's getting harder to sell on these days.... think them increasing prices to uk hasn't done us any favours :hissy: glad you made some sales through the other site though :)
