try putting the aperture on a higher number (turning it down - I know, it sounds backwards but bigger number means lower aperture) Have a look at this to see how aperture works

When a shutter speed is faster, the aperture (hole) needs to be more open to let more light in. When the shutter speed is slower, the aperture has to be higher to let less light in.

Hey Chick,

Yeah just about. We were asleep at the time and the dogs scared them off so thankfully we weren't hurt or anything so that was lucky just the hassle of it all really and the cost of insurance to pay for and stuff it's something you don't save up for you know?!
