Kerry - I reckon the 450d would be a good choice, I know a few people who have one and they love it.

For an extra £40 I would possibly consider this one as you get 2 extra lenses, plus a tripod and a lot of accessories. It's from the same seller as the one you posted.

ive emailed the seller to find out more info :) and we will see :yipee:

My lens still hasn't come :( Fingers crossed it will come today.

Hubby told me that two of his friends asked him if I would mind doing/providing some pictures for them to put up on the walls in their house as they have been trying to find some nice prints but saw some of my pictures and thought they would ask me :) that came as a bit of a suprise!

I need to get practising a bit more I think!

oooooh nice one Shaz!
hope the lens comes soon, if not, get on the fone and shout :grr:

Thought I'd share some photos from last weekends shoot:

Great pictures Pop. I need some friends with children so I can ask them if they would let me take some pictures! I really want to learn how to do good portraits. I was thinking of asking some friends if they mind me taking some pictures of them as a starting point.

I got home last night and my lens had arrived :happydance: I had a bit of a play with it and these are the first three shots I took with it.

It takes some getting used to not having any zoom on it but it definitely makes you think more about your position in relation to your subject. I can’t believe the crispness of some of pictures I took for the price of the lens they are great. Definitely a worthwhile addition to my kit :D

I’m going to set myself a challenge that I will try and take at least three pictures with it everyday to try and learn how to get the best out of it.

i'm going to the dogs on saturday night to do high speed sports photography with college i can't wait. camera is at home on charge already i'm borrowing a friends 70-300mm lenese as i only have upto 135 really need to invest!

Can any one give me any tips for the dogs?

erm, high shutter speed obviously, try panning (slow shutter speed and following the dog) can have beautiful effects

I'min a bit of a quandry... my project (I have 4 weeks!) is portraiture... and I have no one to model for me! eek!

Have a browse around https://www.modelmayhem.com too. Found my first Model on there :)

Oh and am I able to make a seperate topic to post pictures? Everying is so mixed up in here.

Thanks

I don't want professional models though or to pay someone, just a couple of people who don't mind me taking a couple of pics of them, it's only for a HEFC.

Think I might ask my nieces again, though I know one won't be up for it (she couldn't be arsed to come down and get the prints I'd got her as a gift) so... I dunno...

Times like these I wish I wasn't such a loner LOL

i went shopping tonight, and there was a huge stand in the middle of the centre advertising this guy's studio. i was with hubby and a couple of our friends and the reckoned i could do better than the efforts on disply.... has gotten me thinking :hissy: lol

Know what you mean Debbie - I've seen plenty like that, and have had lots of encouragement from hubby and my family, but I'm not confident enough.....
