got to figure the flash as there is no manual and the lenses seem good, didnt realise quite how close you need to get lol! have been terrorising a frog that was in the garden!
the detail is good though. works a bit better on manual focus rather than auto. will try them with the longer lense later today.
Flash came with a push on diffuser as well too so its not too harsh with that.
Will have to upload my experiments later they are a bit crappy though.

We had our first walk on the beach today, and our first play in the park. Alyssa loved the swings!

Here are some photos from today - Alyssa's first walk on the beach with her Daddy and her first time on the swings!

Congratulations Callie - what great news :)

Sorry girls I haven't deserted you - we went away to Italy for a week to a friends wedding and things have all been quite manic. I had asked the bride and groom if they minded me taking some shots alongside the official photographer at the wedding and they said they had seen some of my pictures and were more than happy for me to. Considering it was the first time I have taken my SLR to a wedding I am so pleased with how the pictures came out. Heres a few of my favourites....

I have had so many people comment on them and ask me for copies of them.

It was my birthday last week and my husband came trumps by giving me a set of macro filters, a set of star filters (4, 6 and 8 point), three ND filters, a memory card, remote shutter switch and a cleaning kit. He has also set up a website for me which doubles up as a blog so I can showcase my pictures :)

If anyone wants a nosey then you can read it at www.sharoncurran.co.uk feel free to comment or subscribe as I'm going to keep updating it regularly.

I've also bought myself a new lens me with the money my parents gave me for my birthday - decided on the 55 - 250mm as I thought I'd be better off spending it on something I will use rather than on a load of junk.

The best news is though I've had my first ever picture published :D :D I had a request through Flickr asking if I would mind one of my pictures to be included on a website which does online tourist guides with places to see and things to do. They haven't paid me but they've credited me and when you click on my picture it feeds back to my Flickr and to be honest I am more than happy with that.

It seems a few of us are all feeling the same way, I hate my job and have been feeling like I've just turned 35 and I've not achieved much with my life so I've decided to do something about that. I'm hoping to enrol in an evening Creative Photography Course starting in September which runs for 10 weeks one night a week then I shall see where I want to go from there.

Sorry for the long post - has been so much going on! Am going to make sure I keep checking for updates now :)

Thanks for all the comments :)

Word Press is more difficult to use as you need to know more about the php coding etc which I know nothing about, luckily my husband works in IT and is really good with all that so he has been helping me get it looking how I want.

I have set up exactly the same thing through Blogger https://sharoncurran.blogspot.com as I wanted to see how they compare. I've found it easier to keep on top of myself without any help than the Word Press one. The main difference is that the site that uses the Word Press template is hosted on our own server so there is no chance it can be taken offline.

Whats your blogger address? I shall add you to my subscriptions if thats ok with you? :)
