Hi all, my little lady is nearly 3 months old and has suffered from reflux and tummy issues since a few weeks old. In the beginning she was inconsolable, screaming, knees up, horrendous tummy wind and noise and constipated, plus the reflux where her milk travelled up and down all the time with vicious hiccups all day and night it was the most AWFUL time...anyway we endured weeks of this but changed her milk to comfort and started using ranitidine for silent reflux, we were prescribed pepti junior milk but I didn't try for long as I felt keeping going with comfort would be best as she has made such improvment on it and I went to docs after a bad day and probably should have held out... we were having more good days than bad lately until Tuesday when Lo started screaming and fussing (big time fuss) on her bottle, her body would writhe around and she would go bright red with pain and turn her head away from the bottle, it was (and is) a fight. The HV came and said that yes she does have thrush on her tongue but it won't hurt her and won't cause the feeding probs we are having, (she seems to have had it a long time on her tongue I thought it was milk ) and to change the milk again gradually to pepti junior, but the thing is in between feeds my LO is reasonably content, nothing like she used to be and doesn't really seem to have a tummy ache, she only goes mad when feeding so I feel reluctant to change the milk (because when I did try it didn't go well, vomiting and relux back witha vengence), so sorry for essay but what would you guys do? I am using daktain oral gel at moment for thrush but don't know what to do about milk x

If your LO was better on the comfort then i would stick with the comfort, but you have to do what you think is best x

Oh, bless you & your LO :hugs:

My Daughter has silent reflux & I know how hard that is

Is there a reason why you stopped the comfort?

I am still on comfort, I stopped it for a day because LO had a really awful couple of days and I went back to the doc who prescribed pepti junior as a next step, thing is I lost a bit of perspective on those bad days and panicked because I feared it would go back to how bad things were, I went to the doc on a friday and by sat she was feeling really good again, so I waited a few more days but then felt under pressure to try new milk from HV (who couldnt believe I hadn't started it). I didn't try it for long (its very thin and her relux went mad) and they have kinda told me off, but I just can't see how changing her milk will help if she is only crying when eating? If it was the milk wouldn't it make her sick all the time?? I tried to explain this to HV but it was like I was speaking another language, I can't see how the milk would hit her tummy and instantly make her react so badly and then in between feeds she is ok?? Thats why I said maybe the thursh is hurting her mouth and I was told it doesn't hurt them! Feel so stuck, she is telling me to change milk and I feel they won't help me unless I do that and yet it feels wrong. Thats why I was wondering does anyone else know what could cause so much fussing on the bottle xx
