Hi everyone, my little boy is 3 weeks old today and just seems to be constantly feeding! He is really grizzly today (he slept loads yesterday) and isn't sleeping very much at all. Whenever he does he wakes up screaming and wants to be fed (he attacks his hand). He is going through so much formula- I've read people saying they give their LO 6oz at 9weeks. He can easily drink 6oz and then fall asleep for a little bit, wake up and want more then might drink 10ml and fall asleep again, wake and then do the same! I'm feeding him on demand and he is clearly hungry but I'm just so worried he is over feeding! I know this is probably not possible just want reassurance . He is on sma formula. Could this be a growth spurt? Has anyone else's LO gone through/ going through a similar stage? Everyone who visits comments on the amount he eats making me feel like I'm doing something wrong! He's gaining a lot of weight (my partner and I are both tall so he will probably shoot up). He definitely does not do 2-3 hours between feeds and as I said he can graze feed constantly until he properly falls asleep! Help I'm a first time mum and am worried

sounds like a growth spurt to me- you cant really overfeed a baby in my experience- if they have too much they tend to spit up what they don't need. Sophie was a big eater at first and packed on the weight- don't worry too much about what anyone else says- everyone has an opinion and advice- as long as you and your HV or MD are happy with his progress keep on feeding what he needs.

3 weeks growth spurt.............they usually last around 3 days.
They have them at 3 wks,6 wks, 3 months and 6 months.

Most will say you can't over feed a baby they will reject it when they are full or spit it up. Most likely a gowth spurt don't worry.

growth spurt hun, it will happen several times until 6 months i believe! :) x
