Hi, I had a seizure on saturday and I badly hit my head when I fell (but not my bump)
I was in hospital and they asked me if I wanted the anti d injection as a precaution or I could wait until my blood tests came back on the monday and if I needed it I could have it then.
as I didnt think id hurt bump at all I chose option 2 and was waiting for a call.
on the tues I hadnt heard so I phoned and asked they said they didnt know but as noone had phoned it would mean I dont need it.
iv now just had a phonecall from the doctor of the ward saying I should have got the injection (you should get it within 72 hours and it happened sat!)
I said I am having my 28week appointment with my midwife on the 25th and he said to just wait until then and get the injection.
Now iv hung up the phone this doesnt seem right to me and everytime I call back the lines busy,
what should I do? Do I need this injection immediately or is it ok to wait another 5 days??

Not sure but didn't want to read and run, I'm o negative and was told to get the anti d if I hit my bump enough to cause lasting pain or bleeding xx

Sorry you are in this horrible situation.

I am O Neg and had a tiny little bleed at 23 weeks (literally a smear when I wiped) and was given it anyway. But I don't know with bumps and bangs. Sorry to be no help, I hope you can put your mind at rest soon x

They only give it to you if you are bleeding, spotting etc. I fell down some stairs recently and thought I needed the shot too but everything was fine. In my case baby was moving around, HB was fine and no bleeding so I didnt need it. Your case is a little different however as a seizure is a different matter, i'm not a doctor but I would think they would give you an ultrasound to see if anything affected the baby. Hope everything is ok :)

Also rhesus neg! I haven't heard of needing a shot of anti D when hitting your head, only if somehow your blood can cross with your baby, like vaginal bleeding after an accident to the bump or lower areas, perhaps they wanted it as a precaution incase you did hurt your bump, but clearly your bump is fine, dotn worry <3

I'm rhesus negative too & passed out in first tri & hit my head too but not my bump. Never even crossed my mind to get the Anti D! My DH did ring the hospital straight away & they just said to rest - they never mentioned Anti D either. I just had it when scheduled as normal. Maybe seizures are different but everything has worked out ok for me so far & hopefully it'll be the same for you x

Thanks everyone! Feel a bit better.
I got a blood test to see if any blood had crossed eith babies and by the sounds of it it had so thats why I was meant to get the injection. The doctor wasnt making much sense to me though. Im going to give my actual midwife a call tomorrow as shes in the community today
