hi i had been ttc for 3yrs and was put on clomid as i was classed as UNEXPLAINED... fell pg on 3rd round but mc at 5+3... cant believe how thick i have been to realise that im only having a 12 day luteal phase with 2-3 days spotting prior to this every month ..... im convinced this has caused the mc and the problems with getting pg....

im waiting to get sent back to hospital i hope they give me more clomid but will i mc again if i get pg? if its the luteal phase and spotting thats causing the problems .. docs keep brushing this aside im 37 and ttc for my 1st so this is really worrying me

im thinking of taking vit B6 as ive heard this lengthens and might help with spotting.. i already take a multivitamin and hope i be ok taking this seperate B6 too

Hi!

Did not want to read and run... I don´t really know what to say as I dont know much abour what you are asking, but I always thought that a lutheal phase longer than 10 days was good. Maybe you want to ask your doctor?
I would not fear another miscarriage unless doctor says so, MCs can happen to anyone and sometimes is a one off.
It is only my opinion thought, no expert here!

Yeah 12 days is fine... people regularly conceive on less. If you could clear up the spotting, that would be even better - B6 (or B-complex) has often helped people with that. Have a look at this thread (it's way long! But read the first few pages then the last few )

Googly, are you saying that the spotting before period can be cleared?
I have that many cycles. This one for example I spotted for 4 days before AF, annoying.

Sorry I might have been a bit generalised there, but yes for some people they have taken B6 and it has cleared up the 2 or 3 days of spotting they've had before AF (and/or lengthened their LP). If B6 deficiency if your issue that is.... in my case it hasn't made a lot of difference, so B6 deficiency probably isn't my issue. But for some people that's what is causing it.

Well I have quite long Luthean Phase, from 15 to 17 days... so I guess I should be careful with that as well?
Lol and there is me thinking that I could get rid of the annoying spotting! Doctors don´t seem to think it is important but I always wonder...

I wouldn't think it's too important if your LP is that long, no... sounds good to me

Just to be on the safe side and prevent any more M/C I would either get prescription Progesterone ( Prometrium) or use Progest progesterone cream from a few days after ovulation till 14 dpo. if you get a positive test continue taking progesterone .

Long luteal phase is good because its giving the embryo more time to implant.

can you buy progesterone cream over the counter?
The good stuff, the helpful stuff-:nope: Need an Rx. Most of the OTC stuff is not potent enough to help prevent a m/c. But they can help with relief of menopausal symptoms. They also tend to have "things" mixed in the cream- also reducing the potency.

Yes Emerita Pro-Gest progesterone cream is the best brand I bought mine off amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Emerita-Pro-...C7JI/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1316187969&sr=8-8

you may need a RX for stronger progesterone once you get your BFP but this will lengthen your LP.

Here's info I've gleaned about Progesterone:
  • OTC Topical Creams- typically 20mg [good OTC w/o extra additives: https://www.johnleemd.com/store/resource_progesterone.html and https://www.progesterone.co.uk/]
  • RX Pills- typically 100mg, 200mg, etc. [like Prometrium https://www.rxlist.com/prometrium-drug.htm]
  • RX Suppository like 8% Crinone- 90mg https://www.crinoneusa.com/patients/Patient_Information.pdf and https://www.crinoneusa.com/patients/ Because it's injected with an an applicator vaginally- it's very effective because it doesn't need to be broken down like oral pills.

So, creams can definitely help those borderline, but to really amp it up/increase the dose- make sure you plan to do a lot more rubbing:haha: because you'll need to use a bit more cream. However, if you can get the an Rx because your blood work shows lower levels and an exam shows a lining on the "thin" side- ask for it.

Hi - it depends what country you're in - for example, you can't here in the UK, but I discovered, whilst on holiday, that you can buy it easily in pharmacies in France. I order Serenity cream online. Best to buy at least 2-3 at once, so that you always have a spare so you're never at risk of running out. Good luck x

Try taking a B complex instead of just B6, too. A 12 day LP is perfectly normal, though...
