for the past few weeks, nt every day, but when my lo poos, usually once a day, it has been a bit runny, and has gone all theway up his back. he is teething, and we have started using pammpers cos they were on offer. do you think its cos of nappy, or is it just he is pooing so hard and cos its runny ish??? dont think he is poorly cos its not runny every day, and hedoesnt cry. its just vile when its nearly up to his arm pits!!!urgh, and it really can stink sometimes!!!

lol its related to the teething and possilbly the nappys but tbh all sposies will allow poop to shoot all the way up the back as theres no real elastic to protect, huggies super dry have the best back containment imo for sposies.
most BF mums have this problem anyway as BF poo is very runny anyway lol but teething definatly can caus runny poo and if he poos while sitting up its likely to go shooting up the back if he poos laying down its likely to go forwards in the nappy and out the legs

My LO done runnyish poo (like mustardy sauce) until she was weaned at 6 months. It always went right up her back regardless of nappies!!! It just meant a lot of extra washing!!
But now she is weaned she is now doing solids poos! :D Woohoo xxx

We were always using pampers babydry/newborn from the start with LO and like you now she is teething she does the stinkiest poohs (they say its form all the excess saliva? wll I have to keep a bib on her she drools so much!) and recently changed to huggies as baby dry were having a weird smell after she weed, and I have to say after trying so many other brands these are the best because they have a stretchy bit at the back which is not flat like most other brands and has REALLY been keeping the poopie in!! Its so bad sometimes DH gags, ha ha now THATS funny! xxx

It may be that you need to go up a nappy size? Noah's were consistently up his back every time  until i finished the box of size 4s and moved up to size 5s.... like magic not one has been up his back since! *touch wood*
as PP said i also changed to Huggies (natural fit) because i find they're a better fit, hold more, and don't stink

Sounds familiar! Maya's been doing some really disgusting runny poos lately too and it's ended up everywhere, ewww :D I'm putting it down to teething as well. Oh yea, we use Pampers BabyDrys and always have, usually they hold poo really well but I guess this teething poo is a bit special.. :D

thanks girls, we used to use asdas and they were fab, but then got carried away with asdas offer on pampers, got two huuuuuuge boxes of them and we dont like them!!! i suppose i will jus have to deal with the yukky poos up his back!!i put nappy bags over my hands to deal with it!!!am not v good with yukky stuff!!!hahah

Pampers were the only nappies that caused lo to poop up his back. We now use tesco own and have had no troubles

I've used pampers since Liam was born..and he's always pood up his back a few times a week.
Switched to Tesco Value ones on yesterday morning. The first nappy was a HUGE poo that only went a little bit up his back. Not had a problem since with any of his poos.
I'm not too keen on the nappies themselves..they feel very plasticy, but they're doing what they're supposed to do. Liam seems comfortable in them. The don't leave red marks on him like pampers sometimes do.

Anna, why did you go straight from size 4 to size 5? What happened to 4+?? Or do huggies not do a 4+?

I didnt actually think of 4+s tbh, i was using Pampers 4s and was in tesco and saw huggies on offer and just grabbed a size 5 packet. Didnt see a 4+, the 5s fit him well though thankfully :)

all of my children pooed up and out the back during teething, Kane has just finished a week of explosive nappies sometimes 4 a day, lovely treat for mummy lol

The brand of nappies make no difference for Evie, even in cloth her poos can go up her back, altho I gotta say, the cloth ones seem to contain it all much better than sposies used to ;)
With Evie, alot of it is down to where/how she was sitting when she had her poo! If she was in her highchair then it'll go up her back.. if she's sat in her activity centre, it goes up her back. If she's laying down or standing up against the sofa, it's stays more central
