Positive hpt but negative at the OB

So my ob finally called back and said since my hcg was only 20.25 that I must be having a chemical. I told her that I'm only 3 weeks and 3 days at the time of the blood draw and that tests were getting darker so I didn't understand. I thought 20 was OK for having only implanted possibly a few days ago. She told me that I would miscarry and that I needed to basically accept that and refused to help me. I'm so frustrated.

That sucks. I hope your doctor is wrong, but I can't believe she won't try to help you avoid a miscarriage. WTF. You need a new Doctor - this doctor sounds completely unsupportive.

Yeah, I agree and I just called the VA and they are setting me up with a new doctor. On a positive note I just took a less sensitive test that I had taken yesterday and got nothing on, and now it is an obvious + sign, so my hcg must be rising if Im getting that much difference in 24 hours. Just saying lots of prayers.

Ill keep you guys updated. Im supposed to stay of my feet and relax until monday. I talked to my husbands cousin today who is a midwife, and she has me taking chasteberry and a natural progesterone cream until at least monday. She said it should help my body produce progesterone on its own and the cream should help if that level is low. To bad I have to work tomorrow, but its a day that Im luckily just sitting.

I'm sorry. Hang in there it sounds like your numbers should be good. And good for you for advocating for yourself. It stinks to have to go through so much, you def need a new doctor with a little understanding. I'm glad you are taking the progesterone cream too. Keep us updated, I hope everything turns out okay.

According to them, at 3 weeks your hcg can HEALTHILY be anywhere from 5-50 miu. So your doctor is a b* and I am so glad you are getting a new one! Don't listen to her! Stay positive!

Im trying to stay positive, I'm having some weird twinges of pain/ cramping mostly on my right side, but sometimes both. Dont know what that is. Im trying to relax and rest. DH said the doctor probably caused complications by putting so much unnecessary stress on me. Im just going to stay off my feet and keep doing what I can from this end. Thanks for all your support ladies in keeping me sane lol.

Just a question, it looks like on Sept 8 you had a mc. When did your numbers return to 0?

They were back to normal within a week. At the time of the miscarriage my level was only 24.5

Okay. That's awesome they went down so fast. How do you feel today?

I feel pretty good today, Im still nervous about everything, and just trying to stay relaxed calm and distracted lol. I took another test today and the test line is almost as dark as the control line so hcg must be going up. I feel the progesterone cream must be helping some what. I have heard different things, like some say that it doesnt really help, but I believe you just have to make sure you get the natural progesterone instead of the ones that are from yams. I apply this stuff about every 2 hours and it has left me feeling less of those uncomfortable twinges. I felt very tight in my lower abdomen with all the stress yesterday and after taking the cream I feel like its more relaxed and comfortable. Hopefully a good sign. Im hoping that this is a good viable pregnancy and that I actually have great levels of everything and all will be well, but I guess I wont know till I get my test results on tuesday.

dya know drs piss me right off this isn't related really but when I had my MC and the test came bk neg in the drs the dr said to me, no ur not pregnant, erm hmmm u might have been but your not now. end of that was it, not sorry or are u ok I was fuming I was heartbroken, snotty cow, id go with your gut love and how can 7 tests show positive, get a second opinion xx

My husband is such a sweet and kind person but he got so mad at the doctor he called her an idiot lol. He has checked the progression of my tests everyday. I have been over the past hour been having some pretty uncomfortable cramps/ pressure on my right side. starts to the right of my belly button and moves south. Not sure what this is, scared. Ive been constipated today though, which I almost never am, maybe that is the cause.....

Just wanted to jump in on the pain you are having and that very well could be due to constipation. I had that exact same pain a few years ago, but it was rather consistent for me for a few months.... Long story short and many doctors appointments later it was determined that constipation was actually the cause. Once you go potty, you may very well see that that pain stops!
