Positive HPT clomid round 2. Can it be false?help?!

Quick background. Periods months apart and TTC for 2 years. Currently on day 32 of round 2 clomid (took day 3-7). Cycle length on round 1 was 30 days. Nurse warned not to do pregnancy tests at home as could show false positives and that if I didn't get a period by day 42 then to phone her. This round Progesterone day 21 was 69 and day 25 was sky high at 140! Nurse says too high and to reduce dosage to 25 from 50 of clomid next round.curiosity got the better of me, I've done a test every day for the last 4 days on clear blue digital which have all come back positive with a 1-2 weeks since conception indication. Sore boobs and a bit bloated. Could this just be as a result of high progesterone and the result false like she warned? Too scared to be happy in case it's nothing.

This is the second time Ive heard someone say they were on 25mg of Clomid, which I was unaware would be done.

I spent years, and then went to see an RE. We did clomid on 2-7 and then insemination. I was told to test 2weeks from the insemination. Call with either a positive or a period. I tested on Friday instead of Monday and had a faint positive. Two more tests and a digital all said BFP. Bloodwork at the RE showed positive hcg at 95.

Sounds to me like you're pregnant. I do not believe Clomid gives a false positive nor does Progesterone. Progesterone needs to be over certain levels for both ovulation to be confirmed and to support a pregnancy . Also HPT's dont detect progesterone, only hcg. Get a blood test this week

I'm not on 25mg yet but have to drop to that next round if this doesn't work as she said 140 progesterone was too high for her liking. I'm just getting to grips with how it all works thanks very much for explaining that to me about the testing. Will keep you informed! X
