positive opk @ 8dpo...HELP!!!

Fngrs-Yay for getting the microscope. And just looking at the softcup picture makes it look difficult lol. Oh and your lines are much darker then mines on the opk. Looks like you will ov in no time I think the eye dropper in a ziploc bag sounds like it should hold it.

AFM, its cd25 today. My temp is 97.41 and i have a negative opk. So im pretty much waiting for ov to happen. DH and I dtd yesterday and I've noticed we are not dtd alot this time around. I think its better that way so when ov does occur..atleast we didnt decrease the chances with all the bd. Every time i look at the lines with the opk..it looks like its getting a little darker. I test with the digi opk after i temp in the morning because my work schedule will conflict with me testing in the afternoon and dont want to wait until the evening to test because I dont want to miss the surge. So i think its best if i test in the morning. We have been having a rainy week this week. Hopefully, we have sunny days soon. Also, Aunt Cherry left to England yesterday and we miss her already. We are hoping to see her in England if she hasnt planned on coming back within a couple years. Hopefully the next time she see us..we will have a LO she can meet So im temping and doing the opks so i wont miss ov if it does happen one way or the other. Atleast the opks are helping with the poas addiction Cant believe tomorrow is May already. Looking forward to a lovely month. Hopefully new jobs, new adventures and maybe news about a new addition to the family. But we shall see. If my AF was normal, my next AF would've been due May 11th. Now I dont know when its due. Guess I have to just wait this one out and see.

Fngrs, you're going all out with new things this month. I was considering the microscope a while back but decided just to keep with the opks and try to chart but I hated that thermometer (which I think was probably fine now that I know my temps are nutty lol). Thanks for the prayers, by the way!

I haven't seen too much that is interesting on my own chart since I haven't O'd but I will say it has saved me from buying FRERs. Normally I would've bought at least 1 pack since my ics ran out 4 days ago. It feels like much longer since I peed on an hpt. I guess it's because I don't really feel like it counts unless it's FRER lol. Anyway, seeing my temps in the same range keeps me from buying any. So that's one good thing so far.

MzSwizz, I can't believe May starts tomorrow either! It's crazy! TTC time goes by slowly in a lot of ways, but then I see these babies or people getting to the end of their pregnancy and think, wow that was fast! Or even see my own little boy getting so big and it's insane how he's grown since even 6 months ago. I do hope we all get our bfps together. That would be amazing!

The pregnancies that were bothering me were hearing about all these teen moms and single moms having "oops" babies. Those are hard pills to swallow sometimes. I've been getting the itch to get a dog. I'd been opposed to it so my hubby asked why all of a sudden I'm thinking about it. I said I think it's because I'm a mother and nurturer at heart and if I can't have another baby to take care of, maybe I should have a dog. I know I don't really want a dog though so I'm not getting one right now.

I think my TCOYF chart looks better than FF... It's not quite as updated with spotting and info, but the temps are accurate and un-adjusted. I've been fairly good about taking all my temps at the same time. Ignore the clock. They won't let me set my time to the right time so they all look like they were taken at the wrong time lol. At least I have a cover line on there.

FF did say that my temperature fluctuations are in the noral range even though I think they look weird, so that makes me feel better. They're really isn't a huge difference, they just go up and down a lot within that range. I think once I O and my range goes up, my pre-O temps will look less dramatic...at least I hope so.

same here. ff has my temps in normal range. this time...my temps look more stable than last cycle. so maybe thats a good thing. and im thinking your temps will be less dramatic once your post o temps come.

Well the microscope it's too awesome for words! I have to admit that I am in love with it. For the price of the microscope I think it was a good deal. Given I can use it over and over (no extra slides), and its cheaper than the opk. Now I am going to have another addiction...playing with my saliva! As if my POAS fetish wasn't enough! DH got the chance to play with it too. He said "oh, it's looks like the icy snowflakes in NY", not that I have any idea what that looks like. Never been to NY in the winter. What he was seeing was the partial ferning. To me it looks like the 2 Ferns that I own (I know plants not snowflakes). It has me amazed really...

Yep, my opks are pretty dark. Giving ovulation about 4-5 days I guess Your opks aren't that light really. They aren't the faintest of lines. I can see them well without even clicking on the pics to get a closeup. Now all we need to do is get a hpt that dark. I agree what you were saying about this thread bringing us together. It looks like we are the only ones on here, but gosh when you look at the replies I think we have almost 800 posts on this thread. It would be even longer if we didn't reply to each other in one post.

Your temp this morning did a bit of a dip there! It's your lowest dip yet. Your chart last cycle didn't dip that low. So I am thinking ovulation isn't too far off. Especially if your temps keep dropping. We also aren't going to dance like last cycle. OMG, I almost killed the man! He ran from me from the day after OV until last night! And then last night he proceeded to go to bed, and I had to wake him up and ask... I honestly think it lowers their count. So by the time ovulation gets here there aren't many swimmers left.

Thank you, and you are right, they would look better if we had a smiley.. I'd almost forgotten about the opks once I ordered the microscope , I am ALMOST ready to get my smiley. At least with the microscope I will know about 3-4 days in advance when I am going to ovulate. Which is even better than the opks. I am, I am, I am going all out with the new stuff L.E. I just want to know about all there is to know. I like new experiences, especially when it comes to learning something new. I like to be amazed and impressed when it comes to biology and science. Those were my absolute fav's in college. Got an A in biology final grade and final exam. The thing is, you hear of ferning pattern and means nothing, until you see it yourself. And knowing it's your body doing that. I had to look above after seeing it, and I thought wow God did make us so complex and amazing. Before TTC I never knew the things that I know now about "exactly" how it works and why it works.


I think that microscope would have been a good idea. Seemed like it would be a pain in the behind. But it's so easy and it's fun to gawk at something other than the almost positives on opks and "please be a real line" lines on hpts. I kept saying "oh how pretty", lol DH -> and said babe I don't think it's about it looking pretty. But that's all I could say. I was so amazed. The slide wasn't completely covered by ferning, which would have been jaw dropping for me, but even the partial blew me away. I think it's because I am a plant fanatic. My thumb is VERY GREEN. There are about 31 plants in my house..YES 34! You read correctly. From Topiary trees to ivy plants. I even own Cactus...

It's funny you mention getting a dog...I have 2, and I tell them all the time, you little doggies just may be the closest I get to having a baby. DH told me that wasn't true, but I even ask them if they are babies when I play with them. They let me hold them like a baby, all I would need to do is swaddle them. And when it gets to that point that isn't good, I may have to start another garden in another part of our yard.

Why can't we all have an "oops" baby?! You know the one that you get when you ovulated early but just so happened to have danced on the right day? We should all do that this cycle..have an oops baby. Pretend we aren't TTC and just do it! I wish I had to female functions of a teen girl. then I would be preggers with triplets!!!

I love how TCOYF looks so much more organized and smooth with temps. Last cycles chart was soooo gorgeous! It's actually the first chart that I submitted for others to view. Even unadjusted they look good. I hate the whole clock thing, upsets me when they put that on there. They did that with the 2 charts before my last one. Bugged me a bunch. It even took off my coverline on them! So even if you set your time if this cycle doesn't have a bfp at the end, it's still going to skew your chart this cycle...take away the CL put a bunch of clocks on, and may even move ovulation. I guess it wants you to keep the same time every cycle.

I am just convinced they look dramatic because they don't round up or down to the nearest tenth. If FF did that, then our temps would look the same as TCOYF. Plus (in my ninner-ninner-ninner voice) FF doesn't allow adjusting of temps on those early or late wake up days. Supposedly, FF is sooooo good, that they can predict OV regardless, so no adjusting needed. Glad FF can "pop their collar" on that one and be a smooth operator... because TCOYF with adjusting can do the same and still looked stable and orderly. sorry ladies I am having a very cheeky morning. Yesterday I had a headache all day long, so I wasn't on that much. Today will be a Tylenol day, taking 2 in a few minutes, and I don't care if it affects my temp tomorrow...lol

Tried those softcups out..EASY and comfortable. Feels better than a Tampon, I wore it a few hours before removing. Almost for it was even in. Easy "installation", Easy removal. Just trying to figure out how to get one in after dancing, without leaking the swimmers. You are suppose to put it in sitting on the toilet, but we all know that sitting up after dancing means GRAVITY and goodbye babies. Was thinking he could go in the the instead cup.. ??? I am going to research it I guess, Goggle here I come!

Edit: Got it! It's just as I was thinking! They also say you can insert it right after sex..Thinking I am going to do the opposite. And only do it on ovulation day. You know, that's one way to get the job done if you can't dance that day...Holy cow, I have stumbled onto a solution! Have DH go in the cup in the a.m. and insert leave in for 12 hours while going about your day, so by the time he gets home from work (if he's tired) it's like you did the do anyway. DIY HOME INSEMINATION! L.E. since your LO co-sleeps, you guys may be able to do this one too.

Also yes we are the only ones on this thread I know it use to be more people but ever since I got AF, they all disappeared but it doesnt matter because we make this thread fun anyways I had to adjust my temp because dh and I dtd in the morning and I woke up at 4 then fell back asleep to wake up at 6:50 again so i had to adjust a little because it was kind of too low to the point i was going to discard it. Thinking dtd had an effect on my temp. But hoping ov is in no time.

AFM, its cd26 for me already. This cycle is really flying by quickly. My temp is 97.17 and the opk is negative. Today is May 1st and so its 12 more days until Mother's Day in the U.S. Even though it was raining yesterday, i had a good day. I hung out with my friend and we had lunch. DH and I had an argument but it ended in apologizing and dtd in the wee morning We also had some wine last night and it was pretty darn good Before, I use to stress about drinking wine etc while ttc but now im saying to heck with it. Im going to enjoy life with DH and enjoy my life. I havent been enjoying myself because I was soooo worried about what anything will do to my body to effect me to not get a bfp. I cant make myself live in a bubble. We only drink wine anyways so its no harm in that and we drink it on occasion. So no more stressing for me and it feels good to just live life with no worries. If we get a bfp before july then great and if we dont then its great too because we have a great ob/gyn that will help us achieve a LO so either way it goes...its going to be great. Well, i go back to work tomorrow and I know the boss is back. Still waiting for a job to call. Any day now...because full time is exactly what i need right now and higher pay. So we shall see. Oh and here are my opks from cd23-today.

For fun last night I put in a 97.2 for my temp today to see what my chart would look like... If I would have had that temp, FF would have given me solid cross-hairs for the 16th. Of course today's temp was only 97.02 (adjusted to 96.94 because I took it 25 mins later than usual). Which I guess is good that it didn't reach that mark because I'm still pretty sure I didn't O yet. If I had, I would be 15 dpo and there's no way my temps are high enough for pregnancy (seeing as how my LP was 12-13 days the 2 times I O'd). So of course I was up late and had a hard time falling asleep wondering what my temp was going to be this morning lol.

Question: Have you ever used both your BBThermometer and a Regular digitalThermometer at the same time? I do it occasionally and my regular one gives me a higher reading. It's a 10-second one I think so I assume it's not as accurate. But, just now, I did it and my BB one said 96.73 and my regular one said 98.0, and I just tested it on my DS and it was 97.83 (BB) and 98.7 for the regular (Vicks Brand). I took a drink right before the first temp, so it may have made my mouth colder... so I've taken several to compare and there is at least .6 degree difference every time. Now I know in the normal world that's not a big deal, but it just makes me wonder if my BB reads cool or my Vicks reads hot. One of the things that made me frustrated with the first BBT I bought was the fact that my bbt gave me 2 different readings back to back and then I temped with both the bbt and the Vicks and they were not very close... The bbt was 97.13 and the Vicks was 97.9. Anyway, just going off on a tangent there lol. I know as long as my BBT is accurate with itself, my chart will be fine. Sorry that was so long lol...

Hmm that is pretty interesting. I never tried that before. Before my temps were in the 96s and thats because i temped orally but ever since i've been temping vaginally...my temps have been in the 97s and up. My last thermometer would give me similar readings pretty much all the time which made my chart look like its flatlining. But i never tried testing with both and see what happens.

Fngrs, Hmm well the soft cup sounds interesting and I hope it works out well for you, but I don't think that would be for me. I can't even stand tampons... they annoy me to no end. I'd rather wear my diapers lol. I think we would BD more if DS didn't sleep in our bed, but we still do alright. We just have to make a little more effort than some people.

Yea CD82 and negative OPKS and low temps don't help me one bit. Plus I've been babysitting my niece since Sunday afternoon and she just went home a little bit ago, so I can concentrate a little more with just me and DS here.

I like that we are still here. I remember all the people before you got AF...smh it's like oh she's not PG so no reason to hang out on this thread. I got a + that cycle too, but didn't move on. Heck I got a + the one after that too.. This makes cycle 4 for me and I am still here Heck we have turned t his into a TTC thread and not just opk. I am fine with that though.

Ya' know the pharmacist suggested having wine on fertile days and OV day, just because it relaxes the muscles and makes TTC more enjoyable and it doesn't seem like TTC dancing. Glad you got out, and that you also worked things out with DH Opks are looking good!

If you dont fall pregnant, they dont stick around which sucks but hey wouldnt trade talking to you ladies for them anyways And it would explain why this morning bd session felt super amazing like oh my goodness Now of course dtd always feels amazing but it just felt different. I think it was the wine and dh actually being a different person but hey i like that different person

L.E. I'm glad that it wasn't that either. There is no way that you are 15dpo so I agree that you didn't OV yet which is a good thing. It's suppose to be if you go beyond your normal LP then you are pregnant. So I am cheering you on here, that you OV soon and see a very dramatic temp spike and get that bfp, I meant those Novena's with all my heart. We have to be three of the most deserving women on earth. I know that may anger some others by me saying that. But I feel it's true. We are. I am not saying this to hurt or upset you at all. Both MsSwizz and I have had the luxury of ovulating, myself without ANY issues, but you have waited even longer than us for ovulation. So I pray for you first, then MsSwizz, and myself last. I think you two ladies deserve a baby more than I do. I have 3 living, here at home with me. my house is full of happy moments with them. I would so love to see you ladies get your bfp even if I don't. That's the truth.


Thermometer...I haven't used but the BBT thermometer. When you say 10 second do you mean it takes your temp in 10 seconds? If it does then it's a wonderful thermometer for fever and a squirmy kid. I don't know why it would be such a huge difference , because that IS a HUGE difference in temp. When you consider basal body. That is good food for thought about how each one is reading, I am going to wrack my brain for the rest of this evening and probably chat with myself about it. my kids probably think I am nuts, and that my "rocker" was never there for me to go off.. I chat it up with myself throughout the day, the kids don't say anything, but DH still hasn't gotten used to it and asks what did I say and who am I talking to. After 16 years you'd think he would just get the hint and let me chat it up in peace with my alter-ego or alternate self...

Well I am glad you got a new one, accuracy is important in TTC (but everyone knows that already) I have been trying to get a pic of the ferning pattern for you guys to see. And for the life of my neither camera can getit. Phone or easyshare. I am going to get a pic if it's the last thing I do. From the looks of it, it will be the last thing I do....
