Hi Ladies,

I have just been to see my GP with a bit of an embarrassing problem.

For the last couple of weeks, a couple of times a day, when I go to the toilet, I am getting some light green/yellow discharge on the toilet paper (sorry!) It does not happen every time I go, and is never a huge amount, so I have not been unduly worried. I have been having it again this week, so finally bit the bullet and went to see my GP tonight.

She was lovely, and has prescribed a pessary for me to use tonight (Clotrimazole) but she did not do any tests or anything else - she wants me to go back on Monday morning and have some swabs taken.

So now I am in a bit of a dilema - I don't really want to use this pessary, I am not keen on taking anything whilst pregnant, and the thought of having to put something up "there" at the moment, is not something I really want to do.

I have no other symptoms, no redness, no soreness, no itching - nothing, just this light green discharge possible once or twice a day when I go to the toilet (I really don't think it is Thrush)

I would prefer to wait until the test results come back, and then if they show something, I will have to use it - but if they come back clear, I will have used it for no reason.

What would you all do? Have any of you used this in pregnancy?

i have used it three times to date honey. it is perfectly safe. just don't shove it up until it touches your cervix, only put it in a couple of inches. nothing can get in to baby, it fights the infection hiding away in your vagina, but nothing absorbs through to your baby. and you'll have a lovely chalky substance in your knickers the next day as it works its way out again :)

thrush can be really really uncomfortable and take a while to go away if it isn't caught early, so i would think it is worth using the pessary. however, as far as i know, thrush can't harm an unborn baby (but i suppose i could be wrong) so the decision is yours :)

abz xx

I dont think it can harm a baby, but I think they can end up with yeast in their eyes and mouth from the birth.

Its safe to use the pessary though.

Did anyone who used this, use the 'applicator' that came with it? xx

When i had thrush in my 1st trimester i asked for a pessary as i know they work for me where creams dont and i was told that I wasnt allowed to use one
I recommend a clotrimazole cream, it cant do you any harm to be fair and it should stop it developing to badly...
I got mine after being on antibiotics for a UTI, but i just left it thinking it was just excess discharge and a bit itchy - and it just got worse and worse until it started making me bleed where my cervix was irritated (at 11 weeks bleeding and abdominal pains are effing scary) as soon as it started clearing up from the cream ive never had a spot of blood since lol

Hi , I have a cervical stitch and had to use a preventitive cream just in case of infection after my surgery. This came with an applicator and I have to use it at night every day for a week :-) x
