post count going down

Anyone know if when older posts get deleted or vanish does it get taken off your post count?

The other day Im sure my count went down by about 30 and im sure last time I was on I was nearing 6600.
How am I ment to get to elite if someone is stealing my post count?

Certain parts of the forum - like the groups and discussions - don't add to your post count. So if a thread you have posted on gets moved there then your count will go down.

It's really frustrating - I lost about 500 posts when my thread killer thread got moved!

I cant think of any recent threads that would have got moved, nothing that would have accounted for about 200 osts anyway.
Oh well maybe there is a bemuda triangle section

Umm could be threads being moved or deleted.

If threads get deleted you lose whatever posts you created in that section. Generally though if they're just moved you don't lose posts (unless it's moved to a section that doesn't generate posts). Also, like others have said, certain sections such as Groups and Discussions and Forum Testing area do not count towards your post count.

Mine went down by a few hundred a month or so ago and I still feel sad about it sometimes
