Hey ladies,

Is a progesterone level of 9.2 ok on an unmedicated cycle.

5-20 ng/mL is the range of normal for post-O, but I'm not sure what the ideal is.

I think it's fine for a non pregnancy post O. anything above 3 confirms ovulation...or that's what my acupuncturist says...My obgyn says for pregnancy in the first week or two you'd want to see it above 10...there is a lot of warring opinions on this...My friends fertility specialist put her on progesterone when her levels were 14 in her first week of pregnancy.

But something to consider...if you take it in the morning, it is most likely to be at its highest, but NOT after you eat. In the hour or so after you eat your progesterone can drop as much as 50% and then recover. This is totally normal but it does vary widely throughout the day. To monitor it, you need to take it at the same time every time (or close to) and not eat at least a few hours before. I had mine done the other day at around 11am and it was 12.7 on 7dpo

Your doctor will likely not tell you any of this unless prodded firmly by your incessant questions.

I had an obgyn appointment yesterday, and she had the results of my most recent blood draw. My progesterone level at 4dpo was 16.8, and I ended up pregnant (albeit very briefly).

orglethorp: congratulations, i wish mines would indicate i was pregnant but im pretty sure im out this cycle af is due in a couple days.

Ltweety: thanks for the info. My doctor got my results and told me i ovulated as well but since i wasnt able to do much bding i dont think it will result in much but im glad that i actually did it. I did start to use progesterone cream the day after i took the cd21 blood work because i thought the progesterone was a little low but i will have to do better about using it the same time every day.

Well the witch got me so im out for this cycle, but I wasnt really hopeful because like i said i had no idea ovulation was coming so didnt get to bd like i needed to. Maybe next time
