I think it's fine for a non pregnancy post O. anything above 3 confirms ovulation...or that's what my acupuncturist says...My obgyn says for pregnancy in the first week or two you'd want to see it above 10...there is a lot of warring opinions on this...My friends fertility specialist put her on progesterone when her levels were 14 in her first week of pregnancy.
But something to consider...if you take it in the morning, it is most likely to be at its highest, but NOT after you eat. In the hour or so after you eat your progesterone can drop as much as 50% and then recover. This is totally normal but it does vary widely throughout the day. To monitor it, you need to take it at the same time every time (or close to) and not eat at least a few hours before. I had mine done the other day at around 11am and it was 12.7 on 7dpo
Your doctor will likely not tell you any of this unless prodded firmly by your incessant questions.
