Hey Ladies,
I haven't posted on bnb in FOREVER because I've been feeling so hopeless about the whole ttc process. We've been ttc for 28 months...we've had 1 failed IVF/ICSI cycle last September 2011. That was devastating. We are waiting to try IVF/ICSI again, but it's the usual story. Insurance doesn't pay a single cent, and of course, we drained our savings to do it the first time around and have had a million things happen financially since then, so we haven't been able to save a dime to try again. It's so depressing, but that's not why I'm posting....
I stopped temping around 22 months ttc because it just seemed pointless to continue to force myself to get up at 5:30 in the morning JUST to take my temp when we weren't getting anywhere and I can pretty much tell when I ovulate most months now just by observing cm and other symptoms. EXCEPT that this cycle and last cycle have been completely off for me. I'm having symptoms of post-ov and pre-ov at the same time...has anybody else had that??? I mean, I RARELY get sore boobies as a post-ov symptom, but last cycle and again this cycle, my boobies are so ridiculously tender I wish I could just walk around carefully cupping them and protecting them from all potential abuse!!! So, that is super odd for me, but what is more odd is that I'm getting the sore boobies and hot flashes starting about a day or 2 before I *think* I've ovulated and then having more ewcm! what the heck??? Ok, I'm going to give an example:
Pre-ov - things going along normally...cm changes normal getting to ewcm. after several days of ewcm, boobies start becoming sore, irritability starts (which is usually a sure sign for me that I'm post-ov), slightly bloated, and hot flashes building at night (also a post-ov sign for me that coincides with temp rise). Already, I'm thinking this is really strange. I N-E-V-E-R have had post-ov symptoms prior to ov! Then another day or 2 of ewcm, then ovulation pain and drying up. Most cycles, I can feel ov. Boobies becoming extremely sore like I was saying and hot flashes becoming worse, irritable at everything, cramps kicking in, thinking ok, defo ov'd. Then out of nowhere, a day or 2 later, more ewcm!!! What the heck???
My cycles are usually cut and dry...AF, spotting for days, sticky-to-creamy-to-ewcm; ewcm for several days; NO HOT FLASHES, IRRITABILITY, SORE BOOBIES, ETC BEFORE OV. Ov pain, dry up, within a day, creamy cm starts, which continues until af again. Usually after ov, I will have a couple of days of "no symptoms" before post-ov symptoms kick in. Like I said too, I rarely get the sore boobies...at least not like it has been lately. They might get a little tender but not this excruciating pain where I have to suck in my breath if dh comes near me! And then having it all start before ov??? I'm totally confused about what my body is doing and wondering if any of you ladies have ever gone through this??
It seems like I'm having prog spikes prior to ov?? I don't know. I have endo, and the last 3-4 cycles the cramps have been MUCH worse than usual as well, so I'm thinking I may need to call my FS and talk to him about it all, but I wanted to hear from other ladies before I do that.
All my bloodwork is always "normal", but we only got 3 mature eggs when doing IVF, so I suspect possibly that I have some kind of DOR or premenopausal thing going on. There's got to be SOME reason for that. Our main issue is severe MFI, which is another reason I stopped temping...it just all seemed so pointless after 2 years. We've been through it all too...dh not wanting to bd b/c it was "time", dh not being able to finish sometimes b/c of stress...the list goes on. Now I just don't even bring up ttc unless dh does. I don't tell him where I am in my cycle, so that when we bd, he either thinks it's all JUST making love or all a chance for a little one. He did not deal well thinking that there was a difference between the two (there isn't a difference to me, but dh struggled with that for a LONG time). Anyway, so we typically do hit my fertile time, but we don't bd very often either...meaning 2-3 times a month. It sucks. (another point of contention between dh and I, and it's just not worth the strain on our marriage anymore to argue it out, so we're really just praying we can do the ivf again soon). Don't get me wrong, dh is MUCH more willing to "try" now than he used to be, but it took us nearly 2 years to get to this point, and I just don't want to push him when it's unnecessary.
Anyway, sorry for the wordy post...I hope somebody has had a similar experience and knows what might be going on... many
