Potential protein s deficiency?

I'm going to start TTC this cycle but I still haven't gotten a straight answer on my protein s deficiency. I was tested for Factor V a few years ago (while I was on combined birth control pills). The results came back that I did not have Factor V but I did have protein s deficiency. I remained on the pill for a few more years until my new gyn said she wouldn't give it to me if I had protein s. I've never had a clot and long story short, I was tested again while not on birth control and the test came back perfect, no deficiencies. So I'm wondering when I get pregnant, will I have a deficiency again? And if so, should I be on a blood thinner?
I asked the hemotologist but she had a horrible accent and couldn't give me a straight answer, just that pregnancy is a risk factor for it. :dohh:
I'm thinking that since the pill tricks your body into thinking its pregnant, actually being pregnant would have the same test results.
My primary doctor and my gyn don't have any incite into this.
Does anyone here have any experience with this?

Thanks! (Sorry for the long post) :flower:

I found out after I became pregnant than I had protein S deficiency. My doctor did a full workup and found out I had 3 blood clotting factors (MTHFR, PIA 4G4G, and protein S deficiency). The first 2 I mentioned are genetic, and she said the third is not and could be caused by pregnancy. Due to the # of clotting factors I have, they put me on a daily injection of blood thinner (lovenox). She said if i only had 1 or 2, a baby aspirin probably would have been enough, but with 3 factors she wanted me on the blood thinner.

My SIL had protein S and had a stroke after her second baby. She's had to have meds and a special diet ever since (mostly avoiding vitamin K), and her doctor says another baby could kill her. Hers is genetic and we've had to have our kids tested with a blood test to see whether they have the gene. (Thank goodness they don't.)
