Potty Training Naked?

So Lo decided she wants to wear 'big girl peppa pants'. Shes 2 1/2 and we were just waiting for her to say she was ready to train.

On day 1 (half day we went out and bought a potty) she had 6 wees and no accidents. Even though i still put her in pull ups for nap/bedtime they were dry when she woke (which never happens)

Day two I put her in knickers, but shes had one accident but 4 wee's but none where shes had knickers on, she asked to be undressed once.

So shes not happy to go on the potty with anything on.

Is this normal? Can we work up to clothes again quickly?
Did anyone else do naked potty training who could give me any advice

I haven't started training mine (waiting for them to hit 18 months or show signs of readiness), but this happened to my cousin. Her daughter never went to the potty with any clothes on and eventually, ended up walking around the house naked on most days (it was also terribly hot here at the time). It was a bit of a problem when we went out, as her daughter still demanded all her clothes off before using the big loo, but after a while it became easier. Anyway, now that she is fully trained, the 'naked' habit has completely died.

Tom will only use his potty when he has no bottoms on too. He still wears a nappy during the day and will tell us when he's had a weewee but not before.

However, when he's got no nappy on in the house he will happily go on the potty everytime with no accidents!

It's still early days so we're not going to push until next year, when the weather warms up and hopefull yhe'll have made the transition naturally!

Nate only cracked not being bottomless after a few months of PT we brought Thomas pants for him and with lots of encouragement not to pee or poo on thomas we finally got there lol now he will take pants and his trousers or shorts off and go on the potty when he needs to, we are still working on going out and about without pullups though

Yep, naked on the bottom is fien when starting out. The ability to hold and wait til trousers etc are pulled down comes with time.

It was a very useful stage for us. When she was at home, I kept her bum naked, and she'd remember to use the potty. When we were out and she needed clothes on, I just made sure to ask her a lot. I think it was a couple of weeks before I found she was ok wearing something on her bottom. It was longer at night though. We only had two accidents, and both were when she was wearing pyjama bottoms. I think that was more like 3 months until I tried putting her in PJs again, and haven't had problems since. Think naked is working for the minute, we've only had one wee accident and she did a bit of a poo on the floor before getting to her potty. She didn't seem to like doing the poo and wanted to lay down and have her bum whipped but that's okay.

So day 2 so far so good I think.

Might try putting her knickers on again after her nap at lunch time.

Butt naked seems to be what will work for Alex aswell, he did a wee like that last night, but nothing yet for today.

Made no difference to Ruby at all whether she had anything on her bottom half or not. We had 3 accidents since starting and 2 of them were naked, one of them was fully dressed. Maybe try the knickers again.

I kept Thomas naked on the bottom half for about ten days when we were at home. At that stage he started asking me to put his pants on so I put him into pants full time. He was great at first, then had a couple of days with lots of accidents (I think he got a bit over-confident) and then perfect again.

two of my girls potty trained naked, with our eldest it was alot of work once we started to put the clothes on again. i normally follow a pattern of whatever works is best.
