Pram question

Hello
I have the Graco I Love my bear travel system and since lo was born when we go out for a walk I use the pram as a system where she is facing me. I have seen lots of people with the same pram and they are just using the pram part. Should I be doing this? I tend to use the whole thing as it is convenient but am wondering if I should be using the travel system bit still as lo is now 6 months? She is only 12lbs 14 so easily fits in it still
