So Claire's been waking in the night again for a bottle. We've tried soothing her and it just gets her more and more upset. She won't take a soother (not for lack of trying!!!) and I'm not wanting her to get into more of a habit of waking at night for a feed!

As far as I know, since she does occasionally sleep through I'm pretty sure she doesn't "need" the bottle. Orginally I was giving her 8oz when she'd wake up. Then I dropped it to 6oz and when she got comfy with that I dropped it to 4oz. She's starting to get somewhat okay with that now, although she's still upset when the bottle finishes... so I was going to drop it down to 2oz.

What 7 month old baby wakes up for 2 oz of Formula? Aside from mine I guess lol.

How did you drop the feeds that you know they don't need? Claire will scream (and I mean scream the house down) if she doesn't get her bottle when she wakes up. I'm kind of at a loss!

She doesn't fall asleep at the bottle before bed, but she's normally pretty drowsy by the time it's done.

LOL there should be a sticky for all the times I'm sure this has been asked!!!!

Are you sure she isn't thirsty? Liss wakes in the night occasionally and I give her some water, she takes about 1/2 an oz and heads back off. It may just be the comfort of sucking or she needed a drink but whichever she doesnt have milk.

Liss dropped her own feed, she just slept through one night. Then she dropped her late night one too or the other way around can't remember. I just let her do it.

With Hannah I found that the 2 ounce mark just made her upset because she wanted more, it was easier to just cut the bottle out all together. It was horrible for about a week but she's slept through since

Yeap id just cut that bottle right out hun ...

Will she take a drop more formula before she goes down for the night? Fill her up for a little longer?

2oz, id def cut it out. It will be a week of waking and crying... but she will get over it.

Maybe try and up her solid intake during the day and offer water or juice.

I might try the water, see if she's thirsty maybe?

Yeah, it's getting to be a bit ridiculous. I want my full night's sleep back! We've tried upping what she has in the day but it doesn't work. Sigh!
