I've been weening from breast to bottle and have always used ready made cartons of aptimil so have not had an issue with froth. Now I'm almost all bottle I need to switch to powder and as you need to shake it loads to mix it I'm getting loads of froth. the problem is that my LO will not take the bottle with all the froth.. I don't know why maybe it makes it harder to come out or something.
I've tried shaking up formula from the cartons in the bottle so it's frothy and she won't take that so it must be the froth.

Is there anything I can do?

we also use the aptimil cartons when were out and theres no froth but we do get quite a bit when making up the feed fresh, but alys doesnt seem to mind and normally the froth stays at the (top) or bottom of the bottle when feeding so its left in the bottle by the end lol

sorry if im no help

Mine goes like this aswell.

It also looks like the milk doesnt completely dissolve, i've read the instructions over and over and tried freshly boiled water and cooled down water

ok i think i can help. instead of shaking the bottles as such, swirl them in circles. i get almost no froth with this method. hope this helps.

Fantastic, does it all dissolve ok? How long do you have to swirl it for?

yes the swirling definately works just i always think the powder hasnt dissolved as much, although like kimboowee says it always looks like the powder hasnt dissolved completely.

yeh it all dissolves fine. i swirl it for abour 30 seconds when i first add the powder, but then swirl it a further 2-3 times throughout warming...again for same length of time.

yup dont shake it, swirl it only time we ever have froth is when Oh makes bottles in a hurry and shakes them :dohh:

I use the powder and sometimes the cartons. But we use dr browns bottles because of all the bubbles and LO problem with wind, they are fab! But to stop froth etc we always stir the formula with a spoon rather than shake the bottle. I use a plastic baby spoon and always sterilise it before I use it, and is only used for that purpose, I find the formula mixes really well this way x
