progestin only bc pill/AF returning...

Okay, so I know there is a very wide range of "normal" when it comes to post partum periods, but I am curious to know when AF returned for you...

My son is 4.5 months old and EBF. I have had some bleeding over the last 2 days. More than a little spotting but still not as heavy as a normal period. I've had no cramping or anything, but a few days ago I noticed a discharge that made me think i was ovulating.

My theory, is a change in birth control. I had been taking the "mini pill" for about 2 months. A week ago, I missed 2 pills in a row I wasn't planning on having sex anytime soon because my husband is away, so I just stopped taking them altogether. I assume this is probably the reason for the bleeding, but I'm not sure if normal menstruation is starting up again, or if this is just a random occurrence and will not happen once i begin taking the pill again... Thoughts?

I used to be on that pill, it stopped my periods, I would have a random "break through bleed" once every 6 months or so. However I did notice that if I missed one or 2 it would trigger a period even if only a small one as it obviously lowered the hormones enough to trigger a period for me. Maybe you're similar? I wasn't post partum or breastfeeding at the time so can't comment there.
