I have no idea if this is VG/rota/norovirus.

DD1 has been projectile vomiting (literally the distance of a single bed) for the past 4 days. It only happens once every 12-18 hours but is accompanied by diarrhea too - can be anything between every 30 mins to 1-2 hours. On Sunday she complained that her head felt " like it was going all over the place" and made herself go to sleep

Yesterday we struck lucky with no sick but she sure made up for it tonight - covered half of a double bed plus the floor. Got to the point of just throwing bedding away as a result to washing it over and over (on a 60 wash).

I bleach every time she uses the toilet, as well as bleaching the bath after washing herself. Hand sanitiser has been our best friend too.

OH did have an upset stomach with diarrhea a few days before this started, so I guess he could have passed her a bug. I've still yet to have any symptoms.

This is really horrible. I have a fear of sick so I can't even bring myself to comfort her which is awful. The smell after tonight was horrendous (didn't smell like ordinary sick) and I blocked myself in the living room to avoid the smell all together while OH cleaned her up. I couldn't stomach it.

Do you think it's worth contacting the GP or sitting it out for a couple more days? I just feel so helpless.

Is she drinking plenty of fluids? I would contact your gp and ask for advice, one Christmas my son had a bug that lasted a few days and the gp said it would b 2 different bugs,

She's been drinking (sipping) plenty enough - 2x750ml bottled water a day. An manages 1 or 2 slices of toast which she keeps down. It's just certain times when her body decides to be really poorly. Either 9-11am or between 10pm-12am.

This evening she complained that she had a headache and sensitive to light, but after some Calpol it livened her up.

I'll ring the GP tomorrow as it's been going on for a while now. Didn't want to take her in with the risk of spreading whatever she's got. It's making my anxiety for horrible germs rocket.

Maybe ring up and ask for gp to call bk for advice and they will say to bring her in or not ( that's what did with my son) hopefully she be feeling better soon

It sounds like gastro. The only concern here is if she becomes dehydrated or loses a huge amount of weight. Unfortunately it's disgusting and can last a week. Your gp is unlikely to do anything other than shoo you away asap for fear of catching the thing. It's very infectious. Flu-like symptoms can co-occur

Keep up the fluids and as long as theta plenty of wee and drinking it's a case of keeping the mop and bucket on hand and praying you don't get it too. So sorry! You're a hero! I've been there xx

I agree with what everyone else says. Make sure your not sharing towels and antibacterial handheld don't kill a stomach bug hot water and hand soap all the time.
It's just a case of sitting it out hope she's better soon

Thank you everybody.

She's been okay so far today. Hasn't gone to the toilet for anything but a wee.

DD2 vomited once last night. But I'm hoping it's just what me, OH and DD2 had for tea (fried some sausages in standard sunflower oil - I only ever use frylight olive oil. Once settled down and comforted, she went back to bed with 5oz. Her morning poo was fine, just had a metallic smell.

All bedding has been replaced but still in packaging until I know this nasty thing has gone for sure.

I can't take credit for the hero badge, it's OH who is cleaning up after them. I do toilet duties and the thorough clean afterwards.

So basically using sanitiser is pointless?

Hi.

Something pretty similar going on with us all here too. DD2 started with bug last Thursday night into Sunday, and now ok, fingers crossed. Then I got bug yesterday, (DH working away so was inevitable really), then today DD1 started too. So hard coping when your not feeling well yourself. Luckily DD1 is at an age where she manages herself, but DD2 is not. I think there is alot going around right now.

It's a bumpy ride, but should get better soon.

Take care.
x:hugs:
