Okay, so i've known pretty much all along that I would be calling my baby girl Ava. Because it's such a short name I never thought there would be problems with how people pronounce it but it seems there is.

So how would you pronounce Ava? Might give me an idea of how people think it's said.

Ay-Vah for me.

Ava was one of my choices but we decided against it in the end! Lovely name :)

I say ahhhh-va or some people may pronounce it eee-va too I reckon:dohh:

Ay Vah to me too ... i thought that was the proper pronounciation for it?

So did I (seems most here agree too). I was at a family party last weekend though and my Gran along with heaps of other people I don't seen often were saying 'Av-ah' or 'Ahh-Vah' so I was getting verrrryyy annoyed.

I would say A (capitol A prounced ) and VA

you should see how my names prouncounced by people around here! lol

Ay Vah, we're having Eva for a girl so Ava is the same (to me anyway) just with an A not an E

It's hard to type this, lol but aah va. More aa then VA, like quick. :D

My cousin & his gf just named their baby this! We pronounce it A(like the letter)-vah.

Eva is another big name but thats like Eee-vah or Ev-ah

Definately Ay - Vah. I love the name too, by the way!!!

Ay-Vah for me too, it was one of our choices too, gorgeous name :)

ay vah one of my original choices too - so lovely x x
