So far, DH has been pretty normal with the pregnancy but as its progressing and Im getting bigger he's starting to get a bit over-protective and he admitted it himself. His family are going on holiday next week and I said I suppose we will be feeding the animals as we only live half a mile away. He says, they cant expect you to do that! How will u get there? I said, Ill walk! It takes like 20 minutes and will be the perfect excuse to get some exercise. If not, theres a bus that goes literally from door to door. He was still adamant 'theres no way ur doing it'.

Later he admitted he's feeling really over protective and can see himself getting worse! I think he'd be happy if I stayed indoors all day lol. I can only imagine what he'll be like at Christmas when its cold and icy and Im 8 and a half months gone!

Any one elses OHs like this?

Yes - I now get an email every morning at work checking I got in ok.

How sweet. :) My husband's great, but I wouldn't say he's being overprotective. I think it's sweet though.

My husband is a bit like that bless him. I went to see a friend 20mins down the road yesterday and he wasn't happy about me driving all that way! I'm going to see my mum in Lincoln in a couple of weeks which is an hour and a half away and he said he isn't very happy about that either bless him.

I know it's not my driving capabilities he is worried about, he is just afraid of me getting into an accident.

He is so sweet though - won't let me lift or bend over and gets me anything I need. I love him so much and he is just showing how much he loves me.

Aww sweet Betty. Yes I would rather this than him not giving a damn but I can see it getting frustratring towards the end-more because he will probably be right!

My Oh is like this too. He was off work today and I'd emailed him and said I was popping in to a friends in the village qucikly on the way home to check out some fabric she is using to make our baby a quilt.

The phone signal in our village is sketchy so when he tried to call me and got no reply then of course assumed I'm in a ditch at the side of the A1.

He was not happy when I walked in the door! But he'd just panicked and soon calmed down.

I don't mind but I do have to tell him to rein it in a bit sometimes!!

It's so sweet how they start remembering to be romantic again! It's like dating all over again. My husband's been going to the grocery store, running upstairs if I forgot something and not letting me go, etc. It's funny, but getting to where I am sitting too much. Need to get out and exercise more.

We have decided on the furniture we want for the nursery. Now when it comes to flat pack I'm usually the one to put it up - I just love it. I said to DH that some women still do it when they are pregnant, or I could help him - his reply? "Or you could just let me do it".

I said I feel useless and he said "You're not useless, you're pregnant!"

Can't argue with that logic lol

haha my husband is the opposit. we got a new flat pack coffee table the other day and he said 'oh you can put it up' i was like, oh thanks.

he wont go to the shop for me :( he wont even cook dinner. it's been months since he has. if i refuse to cook he gets a take away.

i hope he gets protective soon. i could do with a break x

My husband has pretty much had to fend for himself on the food front ever since I got pregnant. Because of my ms I haven't been eating a lot and mostly not even proper meals so if he didn't make his own he would have gone hungry lol!

you should all be glad of the fuss ladies, I would be - I'm still doing all the cooking myself, and am left to pick things up - My fiancé doesn't worry about anythin, ever...even when it should be worried about..I'd love to be fussed over a bit more and worried about..! Appreciate what you have ladies!

i'd like the fuss too. hubby is sympathetic on the whole but i think he thinks i'm finishing for mat leave a little early (5weeks before), and can't really understand that a 25 min train journey and a 20 min walk each way takes it's toll.:nope:

Oh I love the fuss lol! I think some of you ladies who don't seem to be as lucky need to get one of those empathy bellies for your fella's and see how they cope doing everything lol!!!
