Hi y'all.
I'm due in July this year, so I know this may be kinda early. But I want to get as much figured out as I can before I have other stuff to worry about lol

So I started the baby registry, I'm not putting a pump on it cuz I should be able to get one for free thru my insurance company. However, idk what brands of pumps will be available to me.

I put medela feeding and storage supplies (bottles, bags, etc) but if I end up with a different kind of pump, can I still use those? I heard I can't actually order a pump until 2 weeks before due date, so if that is the case, I don't wanna ask for something I can't use if I don't get medela. Hopefully, that makes sense. Any advice, suggestions, are appreciated. Even on bf in general. This is our first!

I suggest calling your insurance company to find out what your options will be. Not all cover the purchase of a pump, some cover the cost of a rental. If they do cover the purchase of one, they should be able to tell you which ones are available or where you must purchase it. My insurance required I get it from a medical supply company they contracted with but that left me trying to figure out who sold what from hundreds of suppliers across the country!

Exactly. But I just want to know if I can use say, medela bags and bottles for storage if I end up getting a different brand than medela for the pump itself...
