Just been told that is what my itch is.
I'm about to kill myself with how awful i look/feel.

I'm only 25 weeks pregnant tomorrow so i'm terrified this is going to alst my whole pregnancy like my doctor said.

so miserable!

any help on how to calm the itch would be amazing!
I've currently been given liquid paraffin and steroid cream, anyone had any experience with this?

Hey hun, I feel your pain. At 27 weeks I'm dreading the next 13 to go!! I just posted this, trust me it's helped me a lot. Give it a go xx

I have found a solution that has been working and actually gave me a decents night sleep last night........

COLD COMPRESS!!!! I have two tea towels both quite thick, I soaked them in water and put them in the freezer for about 20 minutes. After that one went in the fridge and one went straight on my belly, I laid there watching tv until bed and after I cleaned my teeth I layered my belly in thick sudo cream. This kept me asleep until 3 30am (until I needed a wee) I then went downstairs and got the other towel from the fridge and went back to bed with it on my belly. This then carried me through until 8am.

Today was the first morning that I have woken up to a non itchy belly, that was until I jumped in the bath and irritated it all over again! The heat seems to make it worse!!

Anyway I swear by this cold tea towel compress, I will be doing it all over again tonight. Just remember not to leave the towels in the freezer too long before transferring to the fridge otherwise they will be rock solid.

Let me know how you find this if you try it xxxxxx

i have had PUPPP since 11 weeks, which is horrible, now it has turned into Prurigo of pregnancy which is worse than PUPPP, i have tried the prescription hydrocortislone creams and stuff which dont work, i HAVE to take benadryl at night just to sleep, i take a zyrtec during the day which helps, the one thing that i found that REALLY helps is betamethasone valerate cream that the doctor gave me you can only use it 4 weeks at a time but they are gone for the 4 weeks,. i go to the dermatologist next week to ssee if there is something that i can take continuously longer than 4 weeks. one thing OTC that i noticed helps is ( jock itch cream) active ingredient clotrimazole, there are also some yeast infection creams over the counter with the same active ingredient, it seems to be the best OTC i have used.

awww hun i really feel for you..... i was diagnosed with this after they first thought i had OC, luckily it wasnt :).

the itching was a nightmare id lay awake all night crying where i'd scratched myself so much i'd bleed and stand in the shower for ages crying getting OH to shower me down with cold water :'(.....luckily after the creams my GP suggested the itch is going down :).

also my GP perscribed me allergy tablets aswell, which REALLY helped

the things that helped me... were aquaous cream, cold compresses and calamine (sp) lotion applied on the actual pimples

hope it gets a bit better for you soon hun.... i know its awful :(

xxxxxxxx

I thought initially it was OC but it was PUPPP.

Doc gave me antihistamine/piriton type pills and hydrocortisone cream...the pills took a coupla days to kick in, but once they did, it felt so good.

The only thing I could do, was have a good scratching session followed by a cool bath, then put the cream on.

i have been itching like crazy n making myself bleed and its driving me mad didnt know what it was have had a blood test just waiting for results will try the cold compress thanks girls x

I ordered some of the granpa's pine tar soap online and also have been using Aloe vera gel from holland and barrett and there is a huge difference!

It's become so much more tolerable!

Hi guys, just wondered how everyone is getting on with their medication and puppp rash?

it was two weeks now since i got told i have it and I've been using my steroid cream, aloe vera gel and also Granpa's Pine tar soap.

I'm still itchy but the rash seems to be gone most of the time - apart from when i'm in the shower ect.

I'm still scratching away but glad this this has become so much more tolerable.

I've had this rash through most of my pregnancy. Now at almost 5 weeks it's gotten worse --- it's the worst under my arms and spreading a bit to my breast area... a tiny bit between the breasts and a few spots on my stomach.
My doctor prescribed a cream for it which does seem to reduce it but it doesnt go away completely...
