Hi, I don't know if anyone else has experience similar but am just trying to get some reassurance.

I had an early scan at the EPU yesterday as I had some brown spotting - I was convinced it was the beginning of another mc. We saw the heart beat which was fantastic but baby was measuring 2.8mm - and Dr dated me at approximately 6 weeks. This is troubling because by my LMP I should have been 7+5 by when I ovulated 6+6 so to be nearly a week behind 6+6 was a big shock.

I'm wondering if anyone had experienced being SO far behind their dates?

Am hoping the spotting stops soon, am not sure how I will cope with losing this little one and I dread putting my husband through this.

I guess all I can do is wait and see, hopefully the spotting will stop and the heart beat will keep on going...

I've had no experience of this Hun as my bean had already gone when I was scanned last but really I just didn't want to read and run. I've seen many people who have been put back on their dates and things been fine so I'm sure u will be ok darling. Good luck Hun. Are they going to give you a follow up scan to check what's happening?? Xxx

Mine was put back the same amout they said that the dates may change again on a later scan...different bodies work at different rates and the date on an early scan are based on averages anyway. They also said that because I had experienced a MC that some women have longer cycles than they think for anything from 6 months to a year or more after...

I've been bleeding throughout this pregnancy I'm one day off 12 weeks and I was told that spotting can happen throughout but most early pregnancy related spotting should stop between 14 and 16 weeks so fingers crossed...It's knackering!

I have a scan on the 6th of April and I'm desperately trying to distract myself until then!

I'll keep fingers crossed for both of us! Xx

Thanks Beadette and Analyticalema for your replies - they have helped. I haven't had any spotting since I got up this morning so hopefully it will go away.

Beadette - am not sure if they will rescan me before my 12 week scan, i think they said they would if i kept on spotting...am going to book a private one for 3 weeks time if I get there.

analyticalema - I hope your scan goes well on the 6th - will be thinking of you and hopefully this Easter weekend will go quickly for you :hugs:

Well good luck darling! I've got everything crossed for u xxx
