Question about night time feeding

My hubby works away for 2 weeks, and is at home for 2 weeks, so he doesn't have to have a full nights sleep because of work or anything the next day, and I'd like to keep dispuption to baby to a minimum, low lights, staying in the room etc. Me and hubby are often awake randomly in the middle of the night anyway for a chat! LOL, we're weird sleepers.

well its his son too so he'll have to suck it up and live with it LMAO on a serious note, we're planning co-sleeping, so feeding in the bedroom defo, i'm not going to run around the house seeking for a good place to hide and feed the kid lol

He will probably wake sometimes when the baby cries to be fed and that is unavoidable, I dont think the actual feeding of the baby is the noisy part, its more the crying before feeding and getting the baby settled again - neither of which you can avoid if the baby is sleeping in the same room as you. I'll probably stay in the room to feed him and if he won't settle then i'll take the moses basket out of the room to settle him before bringing him back in, he will be sleeping in that until we move him to the cot in his own room. my OH is a heavy sleeper and wants to share the feeding anyways so shouldnt be too much of an issue.

hey our due dates are the same :happydance:

Will feed baby in room unless baby really noisy/OH needs the sleep. He does a job which can be dangerous, so it's really not good for him to not have enough sleep!!!!

hey hun, i personally really regret not buying a nursing chair. I'm generally too tired to go downstairs and i like to feed Ava in my bedroom, this doesnt seem to disturb my husband but it does really hurt my back sitting in bed feeding her so i have to force myself to go downstairs which i hate. So if i were you i would buy a nursing chair.

I think it will depend on how exhausted I am. I might just want to climb back into bed and feed baby there.

I just sat up in bed with a lamp on. My OH just slept through it  We ended up co-sleeping anyway and I'd lie on my side and BF her whilst sleeping LOL

At the moment my plan is to feed the baby in the nursery during the night. If we weren't lucky enough to have a spare room i'd probably go downstairs and do it. I got an amaaaazing nursing chair i'm excited to use! OH and i agreed to share night time duties, ie me doing the feeds and him doing any changes. But TBH i can see me doing most of it, he'll be working long hours and i'd rather he got a decent nights sleep x

We live in a 2 bed flat and the bedrooms are side by side so i will be getting up and going into the nursery to feed her... Im gonna breastfeed and dont really want to disturb OH if there is no need for him to get up esp when he is on earlies but if he on lates sod him he can get up and change her lol!!

Thanks for this thread, as a first time mum I hadnt really thought about this. Means me and OH will be talking about this tonight lol

x
