Ive done it too with no side effects - im just a worrier!!! Feeling sick again this past week so am thinking plain-ish pasta will be ok to keep down x

Pasta is fine.

Rice and shellfish are BIG NO NO's

They get a bacteria that goes toxic on them and are not good for reheating.

Meat and fish you have to be extremely careful with and make sure it is piping hot.

I did all this in health and hygine for work. Apparently a prawn mayo sarnie stored above 5degree C can kill you....eeek!!

I never knew that about rice! I'm so glad I found out, though...because I'm notorious for cooking enough 1 night to last a couple meals. Thanks for the info

With rice the deal is that you should cool it down quickly if you have any spare (iced water for example), and then refridgerate or freeze immediately. Then to heat it back up you put it back into boiling water, or hugely overheat. It is when it sits in the middle temps that the bacteria develop. So as long as it goes from hot to cold very fast you normally get away with it.

Rice is normally the reason people get food poisoning from chinese or indian, as they tend to make lots and let it sit. People assume it is spices, prawns etc, but rice is the most likely culprit!

I reheat pasta all the time, as long as it's piping hot throughout it's fine  x
