Question for IVF mummies - how many tries?

got a rather question.....

when ladies talk about how many ivf attempts - is it whole fresh cycles, or do the transfers of frozen embos / blastos count as a separate cycle???

So when i have my first frozen blasto transfer, is that my 2nd ivf attempt, or is that still my first??? (Does that make any sense, lol!!)

i'll try again - does my initial cycle with icsi count as one, or, does my icsi + frozen blasto 1 + frozen blasto 2 = 1 cycle?? (or would that be 3??)

god, i think i have just confused the issue even more....

I think 1 cycles means one fresh batch and one frozen
So your frozen cycle is still technically your first.

3 attempts sounds reasonable enough.....even though I'm praying with all my might that we're successful first try

I'm not sure yet. . . we haven't even had our initial appointment to tell him that's what we've decided we want to do his secetary says she's sending a letter with the appointment date and OH normally gets an appointment within a month.
Apprently the waiting list is normally only three months here so Decemeber/ January?

Hi, it's 3 cycles You just don't need to inject and retrieve eggs for cycle 2 and 3 but egg transfer is considered a cycle by itself. That's what my FS says.

According to NICE, a cycle is classed as using any embryos whether fresh or frozen - no matter how many embryos you have.

I'm on my fourth attempt - 1 and 2 s - The isn't counted as a success in HFEA terms until a HB is detected at 7 weeks. So for us, we've not been successful as yet. Here's hoping it'll finally be our turn - 6 years is a bloody long time!!

I am tentativley pregnant after my first IVF cycle - 8 weeks 5 days. We got 6 eggs, of which 5 fertilised. Had 2 implanted on day 2. The others didn't make it to freezing.
Good luck to all of you who are waiting for or currently having IVF / ICSI. I hope you all get your bfps soon

Um my 1st was bfp but a missed mc and 2nd IVF im 33 weeks preggers.

I would say you could vote for 1st try....as you did get pregnant. Sorry about your baby angel....but so so happy for you that your 2nd try has been more successful!!!
