At what point do they do bloods for HIV etc?

Have been told that i've had all the tests done necessary so just waiting on my go for IVF - but not been giving the blood test for HIV and i've heard a lot of people mentioning having it done??

Ta! :hugs:

I think it's fine either way. They only take a couple of days to have the results and they are valid for 6 months so while most clinics will ask for them in advance - blood type, HIV, syphilis, etc, they can do them themselves at the first consultation with your actual FS.

Ah thanks!

Have been on antibiotics after my HSG that they use to treat all STDs known to man so i think i must be clear of just about everything by now

Was just confused as to how it worked - when it's my turn on the NHS do they ring you up and give you a date or how does it work?x

After our 2nd consult (when we were approved for IVF) with our current FS, we got our bloods forms and blood sucked that day.

I had my Hep B, Hep C, and HIV bloods done at the clinic the same day as my AMH test. This was done end of August and then started treatment in October. I also had my Rubella immunity checked, but got that done by my GP. The NHS don't know the results of these tests, so I am assuming when I get my letter of offer for treatment with the NHS, they'll tell me to get the bloods done again.

Mind you, I was in the hospital that does the IVF here on Monday when they confirmed the MC, and it is like something out of the dark ages. It's awful - really old and dingy looking. What's that hospital drama called? Is it the Royal or Casualty 1900 or something? That's what this hospital is like. Private all the way for me - now I just need to win the lottery!!

xx

Oh and if I do win a substantial amount of money on the lottery, I'll send you all some to pay for your treatment ...

I don't want "some" me, I want enough for a 4-tries-pack. I gotz expensive IVF tastes me

:rofl::rofl: you sound like me - no NHS crap for me - I WANT PRIVATE!!!

I was wondering the same thing actually as we have our consultation on the 19th of Jan, then my OH flies back out to work on the 21st, so i'm going to call the clinic when he is back and try to have them done before the consultation-I'm not even ging to bother asking my Doc for my rubella blood test as when i asked for all my notes when he gave me a referral letter, the last two day 21 results were missing!!-I know it will be an extra cost, but i think i have just reached the point where i don't want to be messed around anymore,so, will just leave all the bloods up to the clinic now!

We went to our local sexual health clinic about a month(ish) before I started down-regging and had all the horrid tests done.

have had the usual bloods, rubella, hep etc. just not the stds - i'm guessing they will come just before we start the cycle! oh joy! xx
