So I am having another HSG, going on Clomid, and having an IUI next cycle...hopefully this will do the trick!

Anyway, my question is, after having the IUI, will I be able to go to work the next day? I know that IVF is much more invasive and everything, but I know there is bedrest after IVF. Is there any restrictions after having an IUI?

Nope, no restriction.
I will have my IUI on Friday, then go directly to work after. I don't have a desk job either.

This is your first IUI then?

Yup...its my first one. Wouldn't it be nice if it were my only?! I can't go back to work the same day because my specialist is almost 3 hours away. I am a kindergartn teacher so I have a very active job! Thanks for the response and good luck with yours!

Yes, that would be great if it was your only. FX

I've found that the timing is a big issue. It seems to take a couple of cycles just to figure out when your body will be ready to ovulate from the meds, then how long it takes to actually ov from the trigger. It's a science really.

Are you doing multiple or single IUI?

Sorry...I don't know too much about it yet...do they do multiple per cycle? If so, just single. I am doing one per cycle for 3 months and then they will reevaluate. Then they will do 3 more. If those don't work we are moving on to ivf.

I have spoken with some women that are doing multiple.

My clinic did multiple IUIs 10 years ago. We did 3 days in a row. For me, by the time I was ready to finally ovulate, my husband's sperm count was in the toilet from the three consecutive days of IUIs. The cycle that worked, I actually told them I only wanted to do single.

Now, the same clinic 10 years later, does only single IUI 36 hours post trigger. They say that research has shown improved success rates with this method. I have to admit that I prefer single, if only because it's less travel and fewer appointments per cycle.

Good luck.
