random ctc payment?

So my OH left back in April, and I've been waiting for my new single claim for chid tax credit. Before my ex OH moved in, I was getting somewhere between 500-600 a month ctc, cant remember exactly, and i'm now in the exact same situation, plus they owe me from April 20th, so at the moment, they owe in the reion of 3.5 months payments, which should equal something like 1500-2000.

So I've been eagerly checking my bank since I applied for my single claim desperately waiting for some money from them as i've been living off my £62 a week IS, and have just noticed that last thusday (2nd Sept) I had a ctc payment of £326.88, no letter or anything from them.. so I'm really confused about what they're up to, why they havn't given me what they owe me for the last 3 months, and they've not even given me a full months payment!

id call them to check when and what they have paid you but sometimes it can be harder to talk about something when you dont have the letter infront of you...ive found the letters usually come in the week the money has been paid

when i started claiming tax credits i thought i was due about £500 backdated and they gave me £27 so i had to ring up and they said it was an over site

Yeah, would be handy to talk to someone, but I've been calling them daily for weeks now trying to find out when my claim would be sorted, and al I get is a recorded message saying all the operators are busy piss off and ring back later! lol

Give them a call. If your getting money then they will be able to tell you what it is etc.
Did you include a letter with your application asking for it to be backdated?
You should recieve a letter from them in the next few day, but if you can't wait just give them a call.

yeah i added a letter in too, I'm hoping maybe they sent out a letter on friday and it will turn up today!

What time does your postman come?
Mine comes at about 8am!!

Hope you get your money soon. Tax credits make a HUGE difference to me. Couldn't imagine going without for so long!

And yeah, it has been a loong time now, and its my only income apat from £60 IS, so I do rely on it, and had to borow lots from family just to be able to live and feed the children while I've been waiting for it, so was counting on the backdated payment to pay off my debts so they'd better bloody give me more than 300! grrr

so, i finally got a letter today. they seem to have started my claim on 11th august, even thoo I called them up to start the claim on 27th July, and asked for it backdated to as close to 20th april as poss, as this was when OH left.
No explanation of why its not back dated at all.. and also no explanation of why the claim starts more than 2 weeks after I called them!!

On hold to them atm to see if i can get any sence out of them.. 11 minutes and counting!

Impressive.. 15 minutes on hold, and all sorted out in 2 minutes!!

Dont know why it doesn't say on my letter, but the man n the phone said that my claim start date has been changed from 11th sept to 10th may, and i'll be recieveing a backdated payment of £2124 on the 10th and another of £538 on the 24th! No idea why it ddn't all go in at once lol.. makes a nice change to get good news Hopefully that will be enough to ay my mum back for all my food and bills and a nice start towards a ppl carrier
