Just a heads up on this news item today (if its not on here already) I have already had problems in my supermarket today and had to go to three separate places to find Aptamil 3 for my LO. Instead of my usual 1 box, I bought 2 (this is all that is allowed) my advice is that don't wait at the moment until you are low on formula to get another box.

Oh no! Cant believe that. Has there ever been a limit before this ?

heard about this last night so went out at 10 pm to get two tubs (we were running low anyway) and picked up another two tubs today from a different shop. this will last us a month now as LO is weaning so i am not going to buy more just yet. I hope people don't mass panic buy and that everyone can still get hold of the milk they need.

Not that I can recall. They are just having problems in China. I think (will have to look for it) but I remember reading a few months back that a major baby formula producing company in China caught fire? This, and on-going problems they have with the formula they produce making babies ill, has (rightly so) made Chinese Mums stop buying own brands and ordering and buying en mass popular, safe European brands like Cow & Gate and Aptamil (not sure about SMa etc). And China is a big market, so they are taking precautions. They had signs up next to all the formula on the shelves in sainsburys, tesco and Morrisons saying 'limited 2 per person'

Trouble is, its damned if you do tell the public and damned if you don't  I thought 'shall I tell people on here or will I add to the panic?' But it's not running out of potatoes or meat is it?, it's baby formula and Mums need this, BnB mums should know there is a problem, so that they don't panic when their formula runs out and they can't get any. (though they are saying that they are producing more of the stuff now, so hopefully there won't be problems now that the news is out and they are getting more on the shelves, there is not a shortage of it, so they should catch up with demand)

They have a limit per customer how many tins you can buy at a time here. It's so other mums don't get bought out of their preferred brand.

Topic is already being discussed here
