I combi feed and use powdered formula normally and when we go out I express some breastmilk. However, for the first time today i'm not going to be able to express any as I have emptied my boobs :) so I have some ready made formula in to take out with us but i'm a bit concerned in how to store it.
Thing is, I can take it out unopened so it keeps at room temperature but then when I open it, it needs to be refridgerated, how do I do that? Or I can open it, pour half into a bottle and put the rest in the fridge but then it won't be stored at fridge temperature whilst we're out. What's the best way to do it?

When we go out, I take an unopened carton and put together a sterilised bottle. I open it when I need it and put the carton with any left in the fridge. The cow & gate ones can be kept for 24 hours in the fridge once opened. I don't think I'd use any later out of the carton if I couldn't put it in a fridge though.

Heya - I am combi feeding too but always with ready made milk. If you can not refrigerate the remaining milk in the carton once you open it, I believe you will have to throw it away. Unfortunately seems like a waste!!

What I usually do is take out bottles with cool boiled water in them and also some dispensers with the correct amount of formula powder in them. When Evie is ready for a bottle, I heat up the water with a thermos flask and then when it's warm enough for her, I put in the powder. No wastage then

If I were you I'd feed and then whatever is left put in the bottle - if you need it again within 2 hours it's ok to use so will be there if they need another feed. If it's not used you'll have to chuck it.

I have a little cool bag which is designed for carrying 2 cans of drink so tiny I have a gel freezer pack and I take 1 bottle ready made if I am only out for one feed and if I am out for more. Than one feed I would put the carton in there and carry the steralised bottles in a zip lock bag when it comes to feeding time I make up a bottle and pour any milk left into another bottle and pop this into the cool bag ready. I know from using this bag in Australia it keeps pre cooled cans of drinks cool for about 4 hours without the ice pack.
